is the 954 the best stunt bike

everytime i see wheelies it almost always seems to be taking place on a 900rr a 929 or a 954. i have talked to a couple of these guys and they say they hondas just have a good balance point and lots of power. what do you think?

yea, the 954 is an awesome bike to do stunts on. really good bike for wheelies because of the short wheel base. also close seating position helps the rider feel more in control and on top of the bike. of course my opinion could be biased

My opinion could be biased too but I found that Gixxers have the best feeling balance point. The CBR 900 and 929 also feel great but the 954 seemed to have a really small balance point and did not feel as sure footed on its rear wheel. Now when your talkin stoppies you cant touch the 954, brakes are SWEET!

954 = 55.1
04 R1 = 54.9

talking about the balance point of the 954, i felt the same way until i got serious and really tweaked with my rear shock and started riding the michelin pilot sport. feels real good to ME now, but everybody has their own adjustments, you know. i just try and stay away from any first gear stand-ups and such, just a little too responsive for me

and oh yea the brakes are totally first class on the 54.

GSXR 1000 and CBR 929 are the best of the newer bikes (my personal opinion).

The older "relics" the 900 is the best, again, just my opinion...

But I've never ridden a 954...so I don't know bout them...

i just traded in my **** box 900 on a spankin new 954, and I love it~~ 954 is the last good stuntbike from honda, cuz all the new crap is all race oriented with the gay plastic gas tanks. everything is perfect on a 954, feels SOO SWEET with 2 down ten up and a good as damper. only quam is getting used to spreaders cuz of the smaller gas tank, puts my tall *** right up on the bars. and the exhaust valve is kinda gay. I LOVE MY NEW 954!!! fukk gixxers, fukk r1s, and good night.

929 is bigger than a 954 in spacing wise and "crunch" factor...so i don't know what you are talking about.

and the 954 is a nice bike. i prefer the 929 cause the 54's feel a little small for me. you also have to remember that a shorter wheel base means less window of balance point, just like the 50's, balance point comes and goes pretty fast.

it's personal opinion, everyone is comfortable on different bikes so there is never one great stuntbike.

Heres my take on all this... there is an *** for every seat, how tall are you, how much do you weigh, whats your inseam???
All this will change how you feel on the bike.

954's pimp

only flaws i have are.....small tank, elevators are sketchy, you gotta land it dead on or your going to miss the tank.

.....and doing long stoppies. The brakes are awesome on the 954, barely touch the brake and your bike moves quite abit!

other then that, the 954 is a TANK.....It will take all kinds of abuse!!!

954 stoppies are OFF THE HOOK!!!!! but the perfect set-up seems to be 98-99 900 rr w/ complete 954 front end

you people need to remember that wheelbase isn't the only factor in balancepoint. the location of the engine relative to the height of the bike, and the rear wheel, are both important factors.

for instance, if the engine was mounted on the front wheel, for every foot the front wheel raised, almost all the weight of the bike would raise a foot as well. now, if the engine was mounted to the rear wheel.. the front of the bike could go up or down a foot, and the engine would only rasie or lower a few inches at most.. making for a wide window to play with before the majority of the weight of the bike is shifting dramatically.

also, flex in the frame plays a certain role in wheelie dynamics as well. the R1 tends to "wobble" on long wheelies more than any bike i've ever seen. i am convinced this has to do with the deltabox frame interacting with wind, and on-off throttle inputs. anyhoo...

I'm most definitely a HONDA man myself. I love the power and stance. I'm 6'3" and the 929 feels pretty nice for me. I haven't had a chance onboard the 954 but a looking at it I like the ergo's of the 929. As with the R1 and the gixxer's I have to go with the gixxer It has a smooth balance point. Though it might not be as high as say an R1 or 9 its smooth sailin.. But pretty much everone's different as Gixxer said its all about you and your style.
