Gearing!!
Gearing!!
Ok, went practicing on the 600 yesterday and everyone who rode my bike said it needed gearing and it should be fine. Joe Brown rode the bike and told me I need to go 5 up and 2 down. So today I went to Competition Cycle and I ask the dude for 2 down in the front and he looked at me like I was crazy. Said that 2 down is like 5 up in the back and I would lost alot on top end. Like the bike would max out at 120mph and I'll loose all my highway riding, plus my gears would be really short.
Now I've rode a 750 that was down 1 and it didn't feel any different that my stock 750. So are these guys full of **** or is 2 down in the front that big a difference?

2 down, 5 up is like 11 up in the rear.
Yes, it is going to limit your top speed to around 120 or less...
If you just go 2 down in the front(and leave the back sprocket stock), you will still be able to ride freeway no problem, but the bike may still only top out around 140 or so.
hope this helps,
