929 motor in 900 frame?

Has anybody put a 929 motor in a 900 frame?

I have a 96 900rr with a dam blown motor and I have a 929 motor that is just sitting here collecting dust. Can I fit the 929 motor in. I have the swingarm for the 929 too. I just need to get the 900 running. It s a pain in the *** to find a 900 motor for sale without paying too much. How hard is it to do and what is involved if it is possible. I know somebody has tried this before.
Let me know.

what year is the 900rr motor? I am trying to find a 98-99 if I can. They take a better beating for some reason. I am interested though. Let me know.

I was wondering the same thing. I thought there was a thread posted up a while back saying how to do this. I'm getting a 900R and I hate carbs. I NEED FUEL INJECTION. Anyone know how???

a 929 motor wont fit ..for one the 929 motor has a mount that the swingarm bolts to off the back and u would also need the full wiring system and computer for the 929 to actually work ....fuel injection carbs all the same just because u get fuel injection dont mean ull be a better rider

if you had the swing arm and swingarm housing then i don't see why it wouldn't work...you would have to fabricate the hell out of the engine mounts and stuff but anything can be done for the right money

No, but sure is less of a hassle. I don't have good luck with carbs (this is look good bike, not my stunt bike). So what about putting a 929 motor w/all wiring and a 929 swingarm on it. I know I've read about someone doing it.

I have the wiring harness, computer, swingarm, and motor. I have it all. It would probably be easier to trade the 929 for a 900 motor.

929 in 900= you would have to hack the back of the frame off and it just not worth it, period! rocket...as far as 900 rr fi. snag the t bodies, harness, cpu, basically all elec. mumbo jumbo off a 919, actually the whole 919 motor would be good and easier and yes, 11 year old carbs jetted for sealevel at 6k' do suc too!!!!
