Going to try to stunt an R6
Going to try to stunt an R6
Ok so I have a yamaha R6 I believe its an 05, the vin sticker says it was produced in 10/04 but the vin has 05 on it and i know 10-12 sometimes can be the next years models so I assume its an 05. It looks to be as if it is the "S" model. I really dont want to sell the bike to buy a different one as I put alot of time and work into this bike i feel like.
Ive replaced brake lines with steel braided, -1/+2 520 conversion, shorty cnc levers, flush turn signals and fender eliminator kit, sick innovations crash cage and rear solid stunt pegs. I really want to stunt this out. and just start practicing wheelies (only ever done stoppies lol).
so what would I need to stunt this out i assume a subframe. from what ive read on non-biased reviews people say they are decent stunt bikes with the short wheel base just super fragile and thats why people are against them. So if i was to buy a sub frame would it make it worth stunting? I would sort of want a bigger sprocket to pull it up easier.
OR is this truely a waste of time to try to stunt a R6 and should I just sell it and go with a 636 (I really dislike the look and feel of F4i's)
PLEASE NO BIASED OPINIONS AND PEOPLE WHO DONT STUNT. ONLY POST IF YOU PLAN ON MAKING A GOOD POST TO INFORM ME ON THE PROS AND CONS

Re: Going to try to stunt an R6
The R6S has monster low end, which is nice. You'll need a subframe for sure. The rectifiers always cause problems as well. Will you be riding street and lot or lot only?
Re: Going to try to stunt an R6
Ill be attempting both once I get comfortable. I'm thinking about buying like a 55 tooth rear sprocket so that would make it -1/+7. Of course a sub frame and is there anything else I'm forgetting?
What would be the approx top speed with -1/+7

Re: Going to try to stunt an R6
I got a few parts laying around since I totaled my R6, everything is brand new that I still have except the dented tank is used and needs a lil tlc. Lemme know I'll see you the **** for cheap
Re: Going to try to stunt an R6
what do you have? i think i want to find a sub frame, a radiator frame/bracket, and new sprockets. Can anyone suggest a good sprocket size right now im -1/+2 which is 15/50 and cant decide between a 55 or 60th rear. will 55 make a big difference in pulling up

Re: Going to try to stunt an R6
Just curious why 56. I see most people who go mid 50s stay with 54 or 55 when I buy my sprocket set should I keep the front stock at 16 or go with the 15 again like I got now
Re: Going to try to stunt an R6
I've run 52 54 56 and 58 in the rear. 56 ended up being the best mix to be able to still ride the street and a small amount of freeway. Your call either way.

Re: Going to try to stunt an R6
I appreciate your help, in no way am I disagreeing just trying to understand the basics. So my title says 05 r6L is this a r6s since its 05? Also why do you run even number teeth? What's approx top speed of 54 and 56
Re: Going to try to stunt an R6
Dented tank, keyless gascap(new), -1/+8 520 conversion full kit with chain, ZA roundbar, ZA tailsaver, stock subframe, if you dont wanna buy a subframe yet(although its highly recommended). stock pipe if you want one to cut down, custom license plate bracket with led pods and strip for brake and turnsignals. few other stock parts as well. The larger sproket doe make it easier to pull, but these things pull like crazy thats why i bought the kit i did.
