F3 Tech Issues

So my buddy that lives far from me has asked me a question about his 1998 Honda F3. He is trying to take the gauge cluster off, but when he does the bike wont start. Seeing as I am a tech he thinks I know all the answers lol. I told him maybe the tilt sensor. Just jump it. He said he tried. I don't believe him ha ha.I can not find a schematic on the bike either. Reaching out to see if any body had any more information I can pass on. Thank you.

Theirs a pink wire attached to the plug on the gauges, cut it and ground it to the frame. You'll be good to go then
