F4I doesnt stay in gear

So my 02 f4i decided to not stay in gear unless you hold up on the shifter while letting the clutch out! Just a guess was either a shift fork or something more simple. After some thinking, I thought if it were a shift fork, I would not have every gear. So on a hunch, I removed clutch cover and discovered that the spring for the detent arm was broken! I assume if this spring is broken, it wont hold the roller in the shift star? Am I correct? Click image for larger version

Dude! I was freaking out! Im a broke *** mf and love riding this vs my 929. A friend who owns a shop said possible fork but since I had every gear, it had to be more simple! Thanx for replying!!

Re: F4I doesnt stay in gear

The 929 is a beast and I love the power, but the f4i is my favorite for wheelies and hooliganism!! I do not have and 929 parts laying around. If your looking for something specific I can check around the area here.

Re: F4I doesnt stay in gear

The only extra part I have for the 929 is a stock voltage regulator. I toasted my stator last year and bought both. Its a good reg
