12 oclock gsxr?
hi everyone I'm new to riding bikes but also very interested in stunting. I have a 06 gsxr 600 that i got at the beginning of summer but I'm getting bored just speeding everywhere on the interstate. I've been riding quads for about seven years and I'm familiar with wheelies, i know bike is way different but i was wondering which 12 oclock bar to get, or do i get a round bar...would prefer the look of the 12 though... Thanks in advance for everything

Re: 12 oclock gsxr?
Its a personal choice. Not many people are doing bar tricks anymore. They're just not technical enough for comps and kind of faded out in the last 5 years. Round bars keep the bike lookin sleek. Whatever ya pick, enjoy yourself and know that nothin comes easy in stuntin. Takes years of practice and costs quite a bit. So you know what you're gettin into. Hours and hours at the stunt lot... Good luck!

Are you even close 2 scrapin?....id spend money on a cage first.....my first year really tryin on a bike...got no 12 bar...just learn throttle and brake control...12 bar will hold you back...limiting how far you go back....when it sounds expensive hit the brake....lol

Thanks for your advice guys, now i might sound crazy but what is your thought on building your own cage. I'm almost done with auto collision school so i am pretty good at working metal and welding. If this is worth a try does anybody gage blueprints? Thanks again

Re: 12 oclock gsxr?
I built my own cage and 12 bar for my 08 GSXR...Works awesome and is extremely solid...been dropped many of times now learning idle wheelies this past summer but only cost about $30 in materials. This is pretty crude pic i ground down all the sharp edges but this was the first fitment

Re: 12 oclock gsxr?
why buy the cage if your capable of building one??? if ya got the skills and the equipment to do so i would just build it...30 bucks in materials and some of your time to do so or around 300 bucks to buy one...i built my own for years now...just copied the sick design...dont get me wrong im all about supporting the stunt businesses but like most ppl im limited on funds so i had a buddy with a welder and pipe bender and went at it with everything...cage, subcage, dc braket, round bar, etc mainly cuz i didnt have the money...granted if i did have the money i would just buy the stuff cuz it does take a good amount of time to build a good cage that doesnt look like ****

Re: 12 oclock gsxr?
12 bar WILL snap your subframe. No question about it. I went with the reinforced roundbar/subcage from impaktech and have never had a problem. Keep bolts on your cage and subframe tight on those 07's they love to shake loose.
here's mine

Re: 12 oclock gsxr?
I agree with the snapping of the subframe comment! I custom built my own steel subframe that's indestructable, the tabs on my frame will snap before my subframe!
On the same topic, I built my own custom subframe with a round 12 bar....MY ISSUE IS...my tail light will not fit any more because of a reinforcing crossmember in the way. I still have space where the stock one goes but not quite enough. ANY ideas on getting a SMALLER integrated tail light off another bike or an aftermarket one?
PLEASE HELP!!
