Man I'm a few years late, looks like this OG thread has died! Read through a lot of the posts, and I can relate so much to all the other OG's on here. Back in 04/05 I was on here all the time reading and trying to learn. Anyway due to life I didn't have a bike for like 10 years, now have been back on two wheels for like 2 years or so, and am building my 2nd bike in the last 2 years now. A 04 GSXR 1000, also had a 1000RR. I have no one to ride with, all my old riding buddies have taken up golf or ping pong. I usually get to go out on a back roads ride 1 evening a week. I still love it, and hope I never loose the love for it. Now im and adult and have lots or responsibilities, but to me riding is like therapy. I think now at this stage in my like I appreciate it so much more. Back in the day we took the bikes out like every night, but now when I do get a chance to go out its appreciated. Love summer evening rides at sunset! Any other OG;s got any updates?

Yes in between work I still look at bike stuff, some things never change! lol. What do you ride these days?

 

This thread will NEVER DIE!!! Life has taken the lifestyle part of this sport from us old schoolers. I hate to say its just a hobby now...That makes the old me puke in my mouth! But I still hit the lot time to time. Just not as hard because I have kids

 

I hear ya bro. I remember back in the day we would be out riding every night in summer, sometimes until 4AM with out a worry in the world. Great memories for sure! The thing now about it is it is a hobby now as you said, but man I appreciate every single time I get an evening to go out for a ride. Back on the OG days it was taken for granted. Now all these years later I have kids, and so many responsibilities. Do you still have people to ride with? I haven't rode with anybody in years. One time this summer I ran into a squid who about wiped out in the 10 feet he was beside me, but that was it.
Did you recently get another bike, or always had one since the OG days?

 

I miss crashing bikes with my friends. We're all about #dadlife now

 

We can still crash bikes, but we will hear about it from the wife's! I try not to crash now, because if I do she will throw out the "This is why its too dangerous and you don't need a bike" line.

 

I'm a dad now, and just learned how to scrape last week. 16+ years after joining this site

I'm just out here doin racecar **** with my wife. Never ended up getting a bike. Spine is pretty bad from disk degeneration, don't think it would take dumping a street bike in a parking lot very well. Still stunt pedal bikes for fun. Showed my wife my scooter trash, starboyz, streetfighterz, etc video collection recently and she keeps askin me when are we getting a bike now LoL Oof
