Insurance on a stunt show?

I am startin to get my stunt team off of the ground and we are doin a couple shows a month at tracks in NC and SC but some are askin about insurance for the team in case of and accident, some are scared if we crash we will sue the track owner which we won't, but I know insurance on a stunt team would be very high, lookin for some feedback thanks

waivers of liability should be acceptable to most track owners. Most of them already have the standard ones that should work.

Just write up some fake **** that looks legit to make them happy. Don't give it to them till the day of the show, by the time they find out its fake the show is over and your already paid

That might not be the best idea if you want to do another show there ever

Yeah that'll work if it's privately owned. But to do a show on a public road...one that's closed of course with the proper permits...the insurance is quiet high

Cool

I like Kevins idea that would work especially if the track owner is an ***, but i wouldn't be too good if you wanted to put on another show.

We perform at different tracks all over Mexico. Those people have never asked us about insurance stuff. Mexican people kick *** cuz they don't give a ****.

I think that you should get a waiver made. If that doesn't work, that's the tracks tuff luck. They could make more money with the people coming to watch some crazy katz tear **** up on rockets.

There was a show being performed locally on a closed road for a parade here. The township that it was being performed in wanted $ 1,000,000.00 liability insurance policy in case a spectator was injured.

The cost was about $ 700.00 for the show.

Don't know how this would apply to a track though.

ok, if a drag strip already has insurance, why would it matter? i'm sure it'd be about the same crashing as if you were in a car that burst into flames and you burned to death....that's a big liability, probably more than just breakinga few bones.

Thanks for the info

The show we did here in Jacksonville was the only time I have been asked, but binder has a good point about dragsters crashin and burstin into flames, but you don't never here about that.

well, i spoke too soon. i just got off the phone with the owner of our local dragstrip. they have motorcycle drag races and i guess in the last month 2 racers have went down so they have to do something about insurance iwth motorcycles so we can't stunt there for a while. That's completely stupid too because they were in a sanctioned event when they crashed, they weren't stunting.

oh well, off to the next town to use their track!
