636 help

i was out riding yesterday and bike died...guage cluster wont work and fuel pump wont prime. Checked fuses and all connections they looked good does anyone have any ideas what the problem is

i'm almost 100% sure this is it. what you described was exactly how my ignition was. how do you have it mounted? mine went bad from moisture settling in the bottom cap from being upside down

its mounted upright so no water should have gotten into it but i will take that cap off and check..i have to go to work i will check when i get off and let you no

Did you check the main fuse? It's on the left side of the bike I believe.

check batt voltage... im guessing alternater went out and battery is now dead.

clean title and freshly braced frame with 1/2'' gussets lol since this turned into a 636 sell fest.

i had the same problem with my 04! its your ignition switch! one of the wires either came loose or broke the solder right off! take apart your ignition and see if one of the wires came loose! mine kept doin the same thing after a hard fall so i finally wired the ignition to a toggle switch and it fixed the problem!!! but im pretty sure its your ignition man!!

So ugh man have you plugged in a new ignition to see if it works? anything? I'd almost bet you that $10 that is ur problem.

dont have another ignition to plug in or i would...i have taken apart the ignition and all wires were still good. If i could run it to a toggle i would do that
