It could very well be something related to the cam chain tension.. when it gets loose it can hit the top of your motor case and break tabs off and such.. and like he stated... clank around.. if its gets worse or louder when u rev.. it may very well be related to the cam chain...

I would break down the top end.. take everything out.. check for cracks.. shake your cam chain tensioner if it rattles replace it..

check the torque ratios on everything and retorque especially your valves

check the pistons.. if eveyrhing is still good... replace em anyways..

and the tensioner.. get a manual one..

should be good and under 300 dollars with the gasket kit...

bike engines are so small.. just take it apart and check for rattles amongst " Shaken" parts
