In all honesty what is a spring loaded slider, with like an inch of play at most before it bottoms out and is just a regular slider, really going to do? I guess it sounds good if you don't think about it. But thats like wrapping preston with bubble wrap and having him jump off a house onto Wee man. and saying the bubble wrap took most of the impact.

TS's actually use a rubber plug inside of the springs to stiffen the point of impact/compression...i actually think the "spring loaded slider" IS helpful and DOES help decrease the actual impakt and force of a drop/crash...i dont run TS now but i have and overall they are a great cage and the WCC has been rocking them for days...ALL cages have pros and cons..you just gotta find what works for you

Re: help deciding for cage

tygersharks springs are a joke, you can fully compress them with 1 hand

not to mention the cage hits metal first then hit's the spring afterwords

tygersharks aren't bad, but they either need a cross bar, OR a third motor mount. 2 mounts isn't enough IMO, it's good for weak impacts, but will brake motor mounts on hard impacts

I kinda of copied the tygershark design for my cage, however I added a third motor mount to each side, much better design imo.

Subliminal ads just kidding man.

no i hear ya i definitely dont think theyre a bad cage, i just think the whole slider gimmick is more just aurally and aesthetically pleasing.

Re: help deciding for cage

i'm a super squid and just really started stunting this year pretty hardcore. i ran a sick on my bike it took some abuse but i felt i needed more protection. powers held up pretty good but i decided to run an Atown and it has protected the whole bike. So no i run ATown on all my bikes due to the better proctection that i need for my squid *** lol. i never hit my shins on the cage. my buddy did once cause he thought i had a foot peg on that side and went to far foward. but other then that you CANT hit your shins on that cage. i have dropped the f4i many and many and many of times and it has held up. i cant speak for other cage like TS or Impak. but the impak looks like a better design then TS. But like i said i like my ATowns on all my bikes. but you just gotta figure out whats best for your needs.

Re: help deciding for cage

Damn I missed a lot.. Sorry fellas I work nights so I made that post and went to sleep.. It's an 06 636 with a really nice paint job so I don't want to risk it.. And to be honest I like the security of a full cage call me squidly it's just who I am?

If slidewayz gets a job I think I should atleast get 25% first weeks wage for being the reason for the job :-P

Tigersharks too pricey sorry man you gave it a good run but I can't afford that.. And I'm teaching the girl just to ride not wheelie or backflip or anything crazy but she weighs like 120 and I know that she's going to let the clutch out too fast the bike will buck and yhn go down.. OR she will launch it... Yes I plan on getting this all on video..

So sorry if I didn't include all I formation needed.. It looks like the impackt cages are really nice and don't go down low but the picture that was posted of the guy doing an O with the a town cage and the worst powdercoat color in the world IMO it looks like the a town cag doesn't go low either?? This ***** too confusing

Re: help deciding for cage

impaktech FTW

My only complaint is that they say the cage itself never hits the ground, if your sliders are in good condition. My 1st hard drop with my bike was out of a RL 0s and the cage hit, not bad but it is a little dinged up, still the best cage IMO

Re: help deciding for cage

The spring is there to hold the slider in place. The rubber piece takes 99% of the impact. Maybe it does barely help, but taking the edge off is worth it to some people. Maybe it does kill stators, but all cages get loose with hard hits, and thats going to happen with any cage that covers the stator. Keep it torqued and it shouldnt happen. Just sayin.

But if my TS ever does get FUBAR'd and takes my stator or motor mount with it in the process like some say, I'll get an A-town / impacteck next. I like the look of A-town especially. It looks kinda like a TS version of a SI cage. They all have good clearance and look professionally done and as long as you don't purposely pancake it with extra syrup, they should all last you longer than the rest. Tribalism be fucked. The end.

Re: help deciding for cage

i have an atown. i can take my bike all the way to the edge of the tires. here are pics of the tire as proof

thats about 1 or 2 mm of untouched tread

and i have only hit my shin one time on the cage. that was when i fucked up on a stoppie and my fat *** slid off the seat. and im 6'4, so the cage isnt only for small people
