heating aluminum with a torch it a tricky thing to do cause it doesnt turn red like steel , by the time you see the aluminum change it's usually too late and you have melted it ..
i have straightened a few levers cold in a vice with some luck but if you go too far they usually snap , i find the trick is to do it in one steady motion , if you stop and start again thats when they seem to break..
the ones i did were no where near as much as the one in the picture you posted , i didnt like the stock bend so i straightened it

or high side a wheelie at 80 then after a day in the hospital go to your freinds house and get your bike back that they picked up for you to find a perfect curl
