Scraping the 12 Bar?
Scraping the 12 Bar?
Well i just put a 12 bar on my bike today i did scrape it a few times but i have some questions,,,,,when i get past the point to start letting it fall back do i pull the clutch in to let it fall or keep working the throttle cause i was using the throttle and it starts bogging a little when its comming back....or should i just get a bigger sprocket to try in higher gear?
Re: Scraping the 12 Bar?
are you doin slow controlled scrapes using the brake at low rpm, or high rpm gorilla scrapes lettin the engine brake bring u back off the bar?
also 06 r6... better be beefin up that subframe.

Re: Scraping the 12 Bar?
it helps if you explain how you are scraping. Are you rolling into it? Are you carrying speed? What gear is in your bike now?
Not much to help with out the correct info.

Re: Scraping the 12 Bar?
I am rolling into it only about 10 mph my gears are -1 and +3 i clutch it up and get to balance and start slowing down then scraped working back break.
Re: Scraping the 12 Bar?
go faster then 10mph, if you hit the bar at 10mph, your gonna stop and be stuck with your bike in the air
Don't pull your clutch in unless you know how to do a coaster, the instant you pull that clutch your bike is gonna fall backwords or forwards FAST
not to mention, if your doing a coaster, and you scrape, and hit the brake hard, it's easy to mouse trap. I still mouse trap sit down coaster scrapes all the damn time at low speed
get goin like 20-25mph, and just slowly bring it back tell it touches
Or if your already doing coasters, just come in at like 20-35mph, throw it back in a coaster, then use your brake to gently set it down on the 12 bar
you don't need a bigger sprocket or a higher gear. You just need more speed in your current gear

Re: Scraping the 12 Bar?
man just do it,make a shallow clutch up get max speed in 2 nd gear just before rev bring it to bp,pull the clutch in and when you pass the bp then start to tap the brake....
Re: Scraping the 12 Bar?
Nate you could be on the brake too heavy. just slow it down then start to ease off the brake and stay on the throttle the bike will keep dipping back... you can come off the bar two diff ways..try to just stab the brake with the clutch disengaged and depending how you do it may try to stall the bike.. or pull the clutch in and tap the brake..great way to go over the bars if done incorrectly. good luck!
