scrape bars

never needed/had one, and i don't want to get flamed for asking this question-so take it easy- i honestly have no idea ofthe answer

does using a scrapebar take a lot of the skill out of a 12 o'clock wheelie? you're not necessarilly feeling when the bike hits 12, just using the bar as a reminder that you're that vertical. plus since people can park them on the bars- is there any way you can go over backward-provided that you're not shooting up to 12o'clock redicilously fast? what about ape hangers? i see them as proof that the scrape bar eliminates a lot of the looping aspect, otherwise the bike would jsut flip on you?!

lastly- does doing 12's without a scrape bar command more respect than riding a scrape bar for 12s?

yeah don't flame, i'm clueless just wanted some insider insight :D

I BELIEVE THAT THESE PEICES HELP PROTECT THE BIKE MORE THAN ANY THING SOME PEOPLE EVEN HARDCORE STUNTERS DONT LIKE DRIVING AROUND TOTAL ****. AS FAR AS THE SKILL LEVEL IT TAKES A LOT OF CONTROL OF THE REAR BRAKE TO DO 12'S SO I DONT FLAME ANY ONE WITH THE BARS OR NOT

When the bar hits the ground it's much less forgiving than plastic hitting.

you still have to land that bar straight or ya going down or look real sloppy. but it protects your rear from the abuse

just cuz you gotta bar doesn't mean you'll be able to twelve, ape, etc. if you put a bar on that sticks out further than tail light DID = . If you put a bar on that is equal or in furter than tail = pimp stunna piece.

if you want to show people you can ride twelves w/o the bar just don't hit your bar

besides what do you plan on doing when you don't have enough brake to get it down SCRAPE SUBFRAME? wont happen any how you'll hit tailpipe and send the bike directly into riding surface.

learn from experience is what i say. and my experience is that you'll need a bar to be a good 12 operator

bars

You'll have a hell of a lot harder time learning 12's if you dont have a bar. It tears the tail all to hell if you dont have one......plus you cant apehang without it......and if you cant apehang why have a bike???? :D

its harder to learn with a bar, cuz once you hit it you usually go side to side cuz u dont hit it perfectly flat... its easier to learn without a bar cuz plastic is forgiving and a metal bar isnt...
