so i went to swap em today using the 954 triples..... looks like the 954 triples have a spread a 1/4" more than the gsxr.. so no good there,,,

and 06 07 gsxr forks are about 30 1/4, so pretty tall... for future reference for anyone...

so heres the gsxr forks with the 929 lower bearing, looks like it will work... so i guess i need to order a gsxr top triple and that other bearing... and that bearing will make up for the difference in diameter for the tops of the stems of the two??

 

Yeah the top bearing replaces the stock top bearings and frame race all together. Just pop the top race from the neck and push the new sealed bearing in there in place of it.

i had an f4i with 929 triples and a front end off a 03 gixxer...worked perfect for me ....no issues

 

yea but the 06 07 forks has a different spread than an 03 i guess

it might work there would just be about a 1/4 inch of travel in the wheel... too much for me.... how bout this, are 929 and 954 triples the same, as in interchangeable???

 

Don't wanna thread jack but could anyone tell the difference in the newer gsxr front ends and the rc51 front ends. I'm thinkin of doing a swap myself and wondering which would be best. I'm specifically looking for fork length difference and stuff like if the front wheel would hit my radiator. I saw this thread and thought it might be a good place to ask. thanks

 

i jumped on a 06 07 gsxr 600 set of forks and calipers for 125, never thought to look at the wheel price,,, cant get a good one lower than 200, i got one and some rotors for 240, now i gotta get a top triple, another 50 soo about 400 for the whole front end... and i know rc51 parts arent cheap either and they are hard to come by...

06 07 gsxr forks are about 30 1/2 " to bottom of axle, and i think stock f4i is 30 1/4", i should have mine done this week as soon as this bearing comes in, i will post pics

 

+1 I had a gsxr f/e on my f4i with 929 triples and it was a direct bolt on. ezec from on here had a gsxr f/e on his f4i and all he had to do was add some spacers to where the calipers bolted on coz there was a little gap. besides that it was a direct fit too.

sweet man let me know how that works out. I really want the rc51 front end but man its so pricy!!! if the gsxr front end works and the wheel is a three spoke I just might go with the gsxr. Plus I want to say I heard that the gsxr calipers are 6-piston. I don't know how much truth there is to it but its worth looking in to.

 

yea i would prolly have to add spacers like that too.. he prolly had 06 07 forks too... imma just get that bearing and run the gsxr triples
i mean the forks sit a 1/4 inch further apart than the others

 

Neal if youre talkin bout the bike Ezec sold, it was 01 02 forks

 

If I read that right and your buying new bearings so you can use lower 929 and top gsxr triple, I don't see how the new bearings are gonna fix anything.

If the spacing is 1/4" off between the 929 and gsxr triples. Then Regardless what bearing you use. if you use the 929 lower and gsxr top triple will still be off by 1/4". A bearing isn't gonna make that top triple any wider for it to line up.

Only way this sounds like it'll work is if your going to use the gsxr top and bottom triples. Which may be what your doing and I just reading it wrong

 

wait wait wait 05 gixxer 750 forks slide right into 954 triples if this is true speak up cause i want my f4sleazy to endo like my gsxr and i have all the parts

 

Mofat you did read it wrong, or i wrote it wrong it was real late, my fault..
yea imma use gsxr top and lower triple... and yes 04 05 forks slide right into 929 954 trips

 

I'm very curious to see how gsxr tripples work on the f4i. Let me know how it works out. I would really like to know how if the stops on the lower triple have to be cut down or cut off.
