Vortex Clipon Question

I see some with 2 bolts that clamp to the forks and then I see some with 3 bolts, Both on 43mm stock f4is why the extra bolt? Why the taller clamp?

The 3 bolt clamps were the older style, had more degree bend to them. The 2 bolt are the new ones

Its good, rained today so no riding. A bit cool out too, but tomorrow calls for sunny skies so it should be wheelies all day!
