2004 R1 advice please! (PIC)
Ok so this is the deal....
I had to(pissing and moaning) drive my Girlfriends son 4 hours drive to lake tahoe for a court date.
While i was there i (board) get on line with my phone looking at craigslist in the area and find a 2004 R1 with 9.640 miles listed for $2.000!!!
And im thinking this is too good to be true or it's mangeled, so i call and a female answers, i tell her that i have $1,600 in my wallet and i would need $100 to get home so if she would consider taking $1.500 i would drive the xtra 2 hours into nevada to look at it.
She says hmmmm..........hmmmmm.........hmmmmmm.........hmm. .........
ok we just had a baby and we need the money, havent got any calls on it yet.
So im petal to the heavy metal!!! rockin to a town called fernly nevada
and no wonder why nobody called...can you say DESERT!
Anyhow the bike had been wrecked and needed side plastics and their dog chewed through the wiring harness so the bike couldnt be started.
I Happily give her the cash and loaded the bike in my truck, drive home
(not bitching and moaning anymore) and next day splice all the wires together and click....start...VAROOOOM.........prrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrr.
So this is my delima....
I know these bikes are great roadracers but ive done alot of searching on this site and havent found alot of info on the
04 R1 pro's and cons as a stunt bike.
What i need to figure out is keep it and cage it up or flip it and put the money into my.... road hard and put away wet....929.
I would like as much advice as possible about (pro's) best cage for this bike as well as the (cons).....Thanks guys

fix it sell it
spend money on building a stuntbike
R1 is not a standard stunt bike. u can stunt it, u can circle it, u can stoppie it. but if u dont know how already u will not learn very easily on a 2004 R1
good luck

Darius used to murder an R1 if my memory serves me right... but he can murder about anything... My friend has one its a street killer interstate wheelies for days and you can break it loose so easy...but its so twitchy I dont think I would wanna stunt it if the damage is purely cosmetic I would slap some fairings on that thing and you could make 3g's easy of that bike.
or screw it 1500 bucks stunt the bitch

Ya i've taken the R1 out a few times and its quite a blast, thing is a fun machine with some ***** but i still think my 929 track bike will kick its a**
The track 929 weighs only 383 pounds and i think that has a lot to do with it.
