Any one here have kids?
Re: Any one here have kids?
It’s all on what you make of it. You can have the baby and love it and be a part of its life, be a daddy or be one of those who run. I’m 31 and have 3 kids, my oldest is almost 12. I wanted to run a million times but I would do anything for my kids and not change the past for the world. Yeah I had a kid right after I turned 19 so I know the scary part. But this little one will change you and could make you a better person than you ever thought you could be. You don’t need to sell your bike and **** because of it, it’s not the end of the world and if your smart about how you do things the expense part isn’t so bad. Good luck man
I'm absolutely a better person because of Daisy Lynn, thats a great point. I grew up, i matured when i was still immature. I have learned so much in the past few years because as much as i wanted to be i'm not a kid anymore, because i'm now dad. I sold my quad and bike at first but then i realized you can do whatever is in your means, just gotta be careful as always. Good luck to you and all the parents out here.
Re: Any one here have kids?
two kids, 12 and 10...had our first (our daughter) when I was 19...having kids young like that is super scary...i will never forget that first day bringing her home and absolutely shitting my pants because i had no idea what i was doing and we both looked at each other like "what do we do now?"
that was a little over 12 years ago and now she play violin in an orchestra, rocks straight a's, and is this super awesome kid (just have to worry about the boys coming around now
)...
you are in a tough spot but it is very doable...just always remember that you now make decisions for not just yourself, but your partner and your kids as well...

Hey, i feel where your coming from. im 23 and just found out i was having my first kid. it was planned but it is a whole diffrewnt feeling when that test turns positive. I am right where u are. She is 7 weeks in. First i was scared, then wanted to sell everything. but i have cool friends and they calmed me down and i relized it isnt so hard. i can still do the things i wanted to do and buy the things i wanted to. Now i just think i have to provide for another life. I cant wait till he/she can ride a 50. . . and i think it is cool to have akid when your younger, i can do things with them my dad couldnt because he was older, like running around on a playground and stuff. good luck man

My little girl is 5 months old and she is the best thing that ever happened to me. I like this thread. It's cool to see how many other peeps here have kiddos.
To answer your question about advice, just take each day as they come. Some people told me horror stories and told me to get my sleep now because I won't get any and that I'm going to be miserable. I hated that. I don't know what made people that jaded but I love my life with my daughter! Some days are tough but most are great!

Re: Any one here have kids?
I have a 8 year old son and can't say how much joy having a little mini-me has been. I was a little freaked when my wife got pregnant too, she wasn't supposed to be able to have kids!!! LOL Not sure if you should sell your bike but that's something you will know better than I. My son can already walk wheelies on a fiddy better than most people too.
Congrats man, don't be scared, this is the beginning of the best times of your life!!!!

Re: Any one here have kids?
in the beginning it sucks but it def gets better. get a paternity test, as many as 10% of men are raising kids they think are theirs but are actually some other guys.

Re: Any one here have kids?
My son is 5 weeks old. It's crazy in the beginning but I'm getting pretty comfortable now. I know being 30, it's a lot easier. I can't imagine going through this in my late teens early 20s. Good luck. Just devote your time to being a good dad and helping mom out as much as possible.
Here's my little guy.

Re: Any one here have kids?
Oh yea, and about the little lady bro. If she is anything like mine, she will test your relationship staying powers with the hormones, crying and mood swings. Hang in there and remember she is not herself and if that doesn't work keep look'n at those growing *****.
Re: Any one here have kids?
my little girl is 14 and loves bikes.she has ridden my 4i and wants one of her own.you can crack ribs and break ankles twist knees and get up but a kid will make you a man and nothing beats doing a show at her school and having her jump on the bike with me and crank of a few wheelies and stoppeis!! your life will change but nomatter how good or bad you are on your bike you will always have a fan.
Re: Any one here have kids?
Happy early birthday to her, mine will be two the 31st..I'm buyin here an electric quad... toys r us has a ltr 450 that has a metal frame, front and rear bumpers, and bigger tires. She loves ridin .. she plops down on my dented tank and fits her little but right in there...Anyone with older children what age did you buy them a gas powered quad/mini??? She is so smart and can figure things out after one try with it.. .so i dunnoo.. if i gave her a gas powered 50 quad now she'd freakin be gone on it.. she is fearless... so nottt yet lol..
Re: Any one here have kids?
my lil girls 9 months, man it was nuts cus im not with her mom, just somthing that happened at a bad time n u cant blame baby for our mistakes so she was definately gettin born. i was just trying to get back into riding and get the noggin back together from a bad accident so it culdnt have come at a worst time. be grateful ur girls coo with ur ridin n u guys are still together, GET SHAT IN WRITING! i mean that u can keep ur bike! um, babies arent as expensive as people think once u get them home. i hope u got decent insurance, if not contact the state, shes technically a single mom so she qualifies for wic probably. diapers u get 100 pampers swaddlers for $20 at target, expect that to last 2 weeks maybe, formula is the most expensive part, baby needs to be healthy though so INSIST the best u can on brest feeding. dont buy too many clothes cus baby grows out of em every few weeks, onesies are great, hit walmart n grab the 20 pack of cotton towls for $10 i think n they make great burping cloths n easy to hand wash n dr so baby dont gotta wear a vpit up smelly bib for too long. be careful with babies neck, easy with direct sunlight, start reading to baby now while shes in ur gf's tummy, baby WILL start developing voice recognition n be comfortable around u a bit better, lots of reading after birth, alphabet, simple books, over n over, the repetition helps word familiarity.
man i can go on n on bro, im on my first, my full time nephews almost 4 and i helped my friends as well. i dont know you but im guessing ur gonna have a boy.
*lastly*
be a daddy first, n biker 2nd, depending on ur skill level it may sound hard now, ride a few times a week but as much time as u ride, 10 x's as much needs to be spent with baby, it'll get easier n u'll feel better knowing that ur a terrible squid, but an outstanding father...
-cheers-

My son is 16 months. And I'll tell u this..i was proabortion and antibaby, but ol girl is totatlly opposite and i'm glad. I would trade my son for anything.
No matter how much money you save/have it wont be enough. They always need somethign lol. Expect to run the **** out of diapers, wipes, and formula/millk all the time. I'm always heading to the store for something.
Theres alot of good things to read out there. The ol lady reads parenting magazine sometimes. We've taught my son sign language. and at first i thought it was dumb, but he can pretty much ask for anything with his signs and can say only certain words. Other than that man just LOVE your kid no matter what. Whether baby momma drama or whatever. Just suck it up and stick it out for your son!
