i dont mean to thread jack but how do i fix the gap here??it evaporates all my gas

mine leaked around the outside of the cap(where it meets the tank). only thing i found that fixed it was gas tank and radiator repair. it looks and works the same as jb weld, only holds up to gas.

just beat my tank in last night and i got a leak at the bottom of the cap around the base. it was out in the rain this morning so im gonna go get some heat and put it in it and leave the rest to JB weld.

I just used gasket maker and it seems to be holding up.. But something like that would prob. work better!

So I used the cork sheet from Auto Zone. it works great. no leaks yet and I rode all saturday night. Had to put about 4 layers on it though.

hey man i bought a sheet of this stuff. did u use a compass to mark out where to cut? i need a very thin corcle to make it work on my stock 636 cap. did you go around the base?

No compass. I just took the cap off the tank set it on the cork and marked my lines by hand with a sharpie and cut it with scissors. kinda ghetto but it worked
