I know lots of people have done it, but...

i want to dent in the top of my tank for feet over tricks, but a couple people i've talked to have had problems with it on the 900s, once the tank is dented in, you can't have a full tank of gas, the bike doesn't run right, doesn't release pressure inside or something, and you have to keep opening the tank to release it.

anyone else have problems? or should i just go ahead and smash it in?

 

smash it in. its better than slidin back

 

only reason i ask is cause this is also my commuter bike, so i don't want problems with it on my way to work.

 

3 of the guys in my group have dented tanks and have no problem with them

 

I've never heard of any problems like that..... the one outside hasnt had a problem yet!!

 

my 750 is dented & runs fine.

 

You should'nt have any problems with mashing the tank in except it will hold less.

dent it right, do crossed up stoppies, fits better for ya

thats how i started mine and then just finished it off with a rubber mallet.

 

I like to get mine started and now it is mashing in more as I go. Stand on the bike and give a stomp around the edge of the gas cap . Once you get the cap pushed in the rest will cave in as you ride.

 

can someone post a pic of a crossed up stoppie want to see what you are talking about.
