More braking power

right now i have a schwag handbrake setup but it works good tho and its consistant...i just don't have the braking power i need now...i just bought a dual caliper from HHD not the four piston...i have a hydrolic clutch as a master...couldn't tell you from what tho...i was hoping the dual caliper alone would give me more braking power...or will i not really notice a difference because of the master i have?

Re: More braking power

did you hook it up directly to the extra caliper, or did you join both calipers with an extra line? that way you control both calipers with the handbrake, which would give you extra braking power..

........w/ no footbrake. I know some do it, but I wouldn't.

My suggestion would be to get a more widely used HB master, thats known to work well. Too bad you didn't opt for the 4-piston.... They have SERIOUS braking power.

i don't have it yet...so i don't have it hooked up anyway....is it possiable to hook it up so you use both calipers when you use the handbrake?...is adding the dual calipter going to make a difference if i hook it up regularly?

you can also run a gptech style adapter with the DC,so the HB powers 2 calipers and the FB uses 1

Re: More braking power

theres 2 ways, the better way I think is haveing a dbl banjo on the HB MC, 1 line goes to 1 caliper, other line runs through an adapter.

Re: More braking power

636 rear caliper are weak to begin with but running dual rear calipers is like running a GP tech fitting, you just get better foot to hand transfer. Running a 4 piston is your best bet. Or try running HH pads(better than organics) and I would also suggest running either a brembo or magura master.

um... yeah! **** will be like more than twice as strong,I say "more than twice" because you get twice the pad surface area, plus the fact the most MC's are designed to work with 2 calipers.
