Frontbrake problems when practising stoppies
Frontbrake problems when practising stoppies
Anyone else having problems while practicing stoppies with the frontbrake?
After a couple of stoppies, the lever takes further and further in and after a while I can push it all the way to the handlebar. BUT, the brake still grabs good but I can only feel the pressure further in, almost like some air gets in or something, but then it shouldnt grab any good...
I have steelbraided brakelines, new and good brake fluid (Motul RBF600) and I have tried both 03-04 636 front master and 1000rr master.
Can it be my pads that cant handle the heat?

Re: Frontbrake problems when practising stoppies
Check the resorvoir that the outlet to the hose isn't at an angle while doing a stoppie that would let air out of the res. into the master...

Re: Frontbrake problems when practising stoppies
Pads are major... If ur plowing them (rolling low) then yes its prob that. Use stock pads.
Ur problem is prob the lines, as the rubber ones swell with heat. The fluid ur using has a higher boiling rate but the stock rubber lines make ur brakes go to poop after u have been rolling for a while

Re: Frontbrake problems when practising stoppies
Plowing, air in lines, bad fluid, stock lines, **** pads.

Re: Frontbrake problems when practising stoppies
Im gonna change pads tomorow to see if thats the problem.
I got this problem aswell last time when I rode some curbs. I also tried changing the position of the reservoir.

Re: Frontbrake problems when practising stoppies
when you heat your brake fluid [yes even rbf] alot you will get brake fade sooner and sooner , change your brake fluid
Re: Frontbrake problems when practising stoppies
mines the opposite, brake gets stronger and stronger(lever engages sooner) the more stoppies I do,unfortunatly my tires gets worse and worse the hotter it gets
