Re: F*ck fi cages...

It doesn't matter what cage you run, when you throw the bike away cause it got a little wobbly at a decent speed it's gonna **** things up. You can't expect a cage to handle a 450lb bike getting throw to the ground at 15-20mph, especially when you pancake it on the side and the frame slider is the 1st thing to hit the ground. It's what happens when you're learning how to go slow.

Re: F*ck fi cages...

i dont see the problem. the cage did what it was supposed to. it saved your bike from getting really fucked up. that bolt is nothing compared to what would of happened if you didnt have a cage at all. so like someone else already said, you should be thanking FI. get use to breaking ****, buying **** and fixing ****. you and your bike are going to get fucked up.

Re: F*ck fi cages...

its an easy fix so i'll be out riding again tomorrow. it coulda been alot worse. i did snap off one of my swing arm sliders tho. do they make sliders that hook onto the rear axle or somewhere else other than the tabs on the swingarm? or am i gunna have to weld the piece back onto my swingarm?

Re: F*ck fi cages...

i know one dude that had fi on his gsxr1000 and on his 600rr. they both took a lot of beating but it held up 100 times better on the 600rr. plus too if they built it too strong it would tear the bike apart. its better to break a bolt than a frame tab or motor mount. you could always try not falling it works out pretty well

you could mount it through the axle with a piece of rod

Re: F*ck fi cages...

hahaha there is as many FI hate threads as there are "whats the best bike to stunt" threads.

my FI cage has held up well ive drop it a bunch and had one nasty wreck on the streets, no cage will make ur bike 100% invincible.

make sure your bolts are tight.

I live in the hills and all my friends rip turns. I like FI cuz in 5 minutes i dont have to be worried about caging out if I wanna go hit the twisties.

Re: F*ck fi cages...

FI cages are definatly not the best cage out there, but mine did completly save my bike and didnt even bend when I mousetrapped at @ 50 mph,but mabey that was because I was pinned underneth the bike

actually I bet they sell like 10x's more cages than any other company, like every squid with a bike has one, even though they dont even stunt

Re: F*ck fi cages...

i dont like FI cages and think theres many companies out there making wayyy better cages espically Atowns cages. but really you shouldnt bitch too much about a broken bolt as long as nothing else broke. my prob with the FI cages is how much they flex and crack stator covers. but just breaking a bolt u shouldnt have anything to complain about.

Re: F*ck fi cages...

i have seen fi cages destroy the frame stator cover and break the engine case in one slow crash , the first crash with the new fi cage and the bike was junk ...

it would have done waaaaaaaay less damage if there was no cage on it at all ...

the worst part is i have seen it a **** load of times ..

Re: F*ck fi cages...

i like the look of the fi cage, and the fact that its not real bulky, but i think the si is better for someone just starting out. get the fi when your better, and do not bail off the bike when something goes wrong!

Re: F*ck fi cages...

FI cages suck dick and so does anyone that uses them! all my bolts bent just from stalling the bike practicing my circles, never had any hard drops, when the bike was going down I'd use my incredible hulk strength to set the bike down gently to get as much life out of the cage/bolts as I could..... obviously that was a waste of my energy because my **** still bent, trashed my threads and eventually got stuck and broke off in the motor. Those cages have too much leverage on the sliders and not enough support keeping it from bending. I would have rather replaced the side cover, rear-set and handle bar than go through the **** I did getting the bolt and broke drill bits out. I hope it happens to you FI lovers.

So your $1000 swingarm breaks but you dont say " f#$% Suzuki but a $2 bolt breaks and its F$#% FI?

Lots of good cage companies, I rode FI before I was supported by them and would still will rock em if they didnt! Keep your bike tight and it will eliminate alot of problems!
