Clutch Setup

Just wondering if there is a particular method for setting up the clutch and cable the right way to get max engagement. and dissengagement? Mine seems to not dissengage all of the way even if I play with the adjuster on the lever itself.

Thx.

At the other end of the clutch cable you can adjust the tension. There are two nuts. One nut acts like a lock and the other adjusts the tension. Afterward, you'll need to make minor adjustments at the lever. there should be a little play in the lever when your all done.

Re: Clutch Setup

But should the lever on the clutch case be 90 deg perpendicular or a lil negative?

Re: Clutch Setup

90 degrees is the rule of thumb.

suzuki's have a dot and arrow on the shaft and linkage where they are supposed to go. I havent seen any hondas that were adjustable. put the adjuster on the lever all the way in. Adjust the cable on the motor so that you have little slack in the lever. Turn the bars both ways to make sure that the cable isnt pulling. if the cable is routed wrong or too tight it will usually disengage the clutch when you turn the bars right. You want to be sure there is no issue there.
