i saved a **** load back when i got my first bike by pulling in the clutch. i always had shitty *** fronts on, ya know a squid with no money haha so yeah tank slappers was the first stunt i got down..

 

reminds me of my old hilux, it had a beach seat.

few times i ended up lying down across the whole seat like i was lying on a couch hahaha, expecially because it was so low and the ride was so hard

 

Worst one for me was 4 years ago on my 03 R1 (no stabilizer).

I was whoolieng passing a car on a 2 lane turning to the right. Well I was in 2nd near red line (about 100mph on an R1) about the time I was at the old lady's front bumper.

Before I could get much farther,I dropped the front a little too much, hit the Rev limiter, slaming the front end down while still hanging off to the right side trying to make the deep curve. I had made that turn 100 times but this one was nearly my last.

I did my best to stay on and slapped my right foot on the pavement so ****** hard it still stings 4 yrs later

Well I made it past the old lady but wobbled with both the front and back tires squalling for eternity. Finally I was able to get a handfull of throttle and lighten the front enough to pull out alive and stayed on 2 wheels.

Well I was riding with some freinds and not to come off like that **** bothered me, At the end of the road I did an endo to the stop sign. When I set it down my right peg broke off (common R1 problem) causing me to run over my own foot like a dumbass

had one out by lake pleasant, first time out there. took a corner bout 100 and 300 feet after the turn there was a t-intersection with a stop sign. laid it down and super-manned off like a champ.

 

i built my 07 zx10 as a dragbike. full headwork, cams, exhaust, pc, stretched...the works. that bike was nasty!!! when i reverted to stock wheelbase i started having tons of problems with tank slap. it had the stock ohlins dampener but it didnt seem to help. i could take off hard and the bike would come up in every gear. when it came down in sixth it was around 140 to 150 and would start shaking every time. all i had to do was come off the throttle. i got lucky i guess that it never got crazy violent as soon as it landed.

 

This is the DOPEST tank slap ever!!!!!

only had one and it was decelerating from 160 hit a pot hole at 140 got back on it then did 65 the rest of the way, TERRIFIED!

 

yea if u felt ne way i did then ur *** wuz prolly puckered up so bad u couldnt nail in a thumbtack with a jack hammer haha... its juss too bad my zx-6 doesnt have the power the get my front wheel off the ground at 130 to straighten it out..

Fasest i've had was about 90 on my friends 03 636, hitting corners and the suspension was setup WAY WRONG.. Old owner was 250lbs and I think he had it all set to hard

I don't know if it's just the fact my f4i drives itself, or they are under powered.. But i've NEVER got a tank slap from hitting turns or doing wheelies on my f4i!
I got them on endo's.. But I get 'loose' on my friends bike it seems like in every turn

 

 

the second time that she falls is funny. she tries so hard to stay up but gravity still gets the best of her.

 

havent had a tank slapper yet but since you mentioned the 03 636 suspension being set up wrong i figure ill ask. the other day doing bout 110 going over a slight hill with a slight turn it felt like the rear end started hopping on me. it was lowered when i bought it (not anymore) and the rear is as stiff as can be afaik. its not very comfortable and feels pretty good going through twisties but am wondering what the proper setup would be for 165lb rider.

 

Something that would help you even more than a stabilizer is not taking turns you have never taken before at 130
