Re: R6 Dies when Stoppie?

my 05 r6 shut off last year after a 5 second or so stoppie. it threw a code and wouldnt start until i turned the key off and back on. i looked up the code and it was the tip over sensor. hasnt happend since (i suck at stoppies) i would like to know how to disable the sensor tho

Look for the sensor just behind the ecm, it has 2 bolts and says "up" on it

Re: R6 Dies when Stoppie?

IF U REMOUNTED UR TIP OVER SENSOR IT MAY BE WORKIN UP AND DOWN INSTEAD UP SIDE TO SIDE. I REMOUNTED MINE AND IT TURNS OFF WHEN I COME BACK PAST 12 AND ON STOPPIES SOMETIMES BUT STAYS RUNNIN WHEN IT FALLS OVER ON ITS SIDE.

Can't you just jump the wires like you do on an f4i and call it a day?

That sounds terrible. I hope you didn't do this intentionally.

I have a spare harness laying around that had a tip sensor in it. took 20 second to take apart and notice how it works. There is a counter weighted sensor that just needs to be held in place (easiest would probably be silicone) Just looks like you would need to make sure the sensor stays in the "up" position in reference to the bike. I'll try it out next week when I go pick my bike up from storage.

Re: R6 Dies when Stoppie?

are you getting an oil light as well? (before it goes to bulb check)

coils are a huge issue on these bikes. they dont like hard hits. weird that the bike would restart fine though....
