go there and you can key in all your ratios and everything...pretty damn accurate. just make sure you switch it over to mph lol

Its cable and im pretty sure the sprockets are stock. Riding next to my dad it showed I was about 5mph off but im not sure if it would throw it off more when it jumps.

the needle jumps sometimes??? it may need a lube job through the cable, it could be binding up in the sleeve....just unhook it from the back of the speedo and take the straw on yout lube can and blast it a few good times at the end of a ride so it has time to sit overnight....take a good look at the cable ends too...it could be work out and barely working....

in the end dude...your bike may be off by 2.5mph and he could be out by 2.5....highly unlikely, but every bike can't be spot on with the mph of anyother bike.....ball park is ok...just take a good look at the cable and if it is routed properly with no kinks etc.....i'm sure it's somehing simple...

Re: stunt bike top speeds??

My f4i with a 60t sprocket I believe does 120-125ish top speed

I do 95 on my gauges and I hang with traffic in a 70mph speed limit, and I pull a few cars, so I gotta be goin about 75mph

Does your speedo even connect to the rear wheel, or the front?

+1
Especially a cable speedo, no way they can be accurate on older bikes... Hell just a little resistance in the cable has to throw it off over the years..

Don't cops radar guns have to be re-calibrated regularly?

yea they do...but there is a difference....LIDAR is a lazer radar, and can scope your speed in under 5 seconds of zero-ing in on target.....Radar-radar is a sound wave type frequency signal that is bounced off a dense object-ie-your engine block and that rebound wave is bounced back to the cops Radar...the waves come in thousands maybe millions of times per second, the gun works out the math of how fast you are traveling by how fast the bounce back waves come back...1st wave =3sec to get back, 2nd wave=2.5 and so on, on ,on it works out a an algorythm by the frequency and calculates you are OVER THE SPEED LIMIT....

the lidars only have to be checked and if they are out of calibration sent out to be serviced, the Radar-radar uses a tuning fork type devive to calibrate it, everytime it is used by another cop it is set up different....they are not very reliable!!!

lidars are more derpendable and accurate so getting caught with one sucks and is uber hard to fight in court unless you can challenge the cop by asking for his certificate of being proplerly trained to operate such equipment.

60t=109-120, depending on bike and front sprocket.

And just for future reference, there are top speed calculators out there to use.

Find your 6th gear ratio, determine your final drive, your redline, and the diameter of your tire.
A little bit of both lol something i can stunt on comfortably and get away when i need to cuz i dont plan on stopping and cops out here are dicks, **** them all.. The way i see it, if they wanna stop me they're gonna have to work for it...

Re: stunt bike top speeds??

havent you guys ever paid attention to normal motorcycle mags . . .

the average speedo is off from the factory 10-15% depending on rpm levels on stock bikes a 05 1000rr stock geared will do a indicated 186 mph but its actual top speed is 172mph (weather conditions and rider weight play into effect) perfect example the new r6 is the only 600 that will do 171mph no other 600 will break 170 but theres 1230322342343 retards who will tell you they can

speedohealer or no speedo healer it will never be 100% accurate

the average street stunt bike i would say is around +10 in the rear and it depends on the bike as far as top speed goes 600s would be around 120-130 on liter bikes is say 145-155.

i was plus 10 on my 1000rr and i could still out run crown vics what i know will do 140

i don't doubt its off, but for it to pass testing to be sold i don't think it's off that much.

Re: stunt bike top speeds??

zx6r -2(14) +17(60) with speedo healer tops 108 flickering 110. Riding along side others my spped is close to theirs, a mph or 2 less. I'm getting to old to risk that ticket, reckless sure.
Tried that link and it projects alittle over 108, got my **** pretty accurate with the speedo healer.

as i said it depends on the riders size as well as weather. . . . and every bike varies.

look into it more you will be surprised. if you have ever had a bike dyno'd you know exactly what im talkin about
