05 cbr1000rr..good STREET stunt bike?

i'm actually looking for a 954 but i came across a good deal on a 05 cbr 1000rr. i'm only going to use it for highway/freeway stuntin and long stoppies. no slow speed stuff (i have another bike for lots). i know the 954 is a perfect bike for what i'm looking for but what about the 1000rr? anyone know the pros and cons of the 05 1000rr?

i've been told the rear brake over heats fairly fast and that BP is really high for street.

also is there any mods i should do..like with the oil pick up..etc??? thanks..

you don't want that 1k unless your a knee dragger, even then all the critics said "it was fast, but felt flat."
the throttle is super twitchy(not good at all for wheelies) and it has loads of power.

maybe for endos and thats it :shrug

seems like a waste unless you're jesse toler or somethin

the 1000rr is a street murderer. its not too twitchy at all, the power delivery is very smooth for street riding. only downfall of that bike is that the tank denting is a pain in the *** just like the 600rr. otherwise that bike is a street killer, id love to have one. ive ridden my bro in laws and its ****** sick.

that bike has way more power than your 929. i'll say if your an experienced rider you should be fine, but i stick by my original statement, when that bike came out i read every article and they all said the same thing "the bike was fast and i think they might have even said "the throttle delivery was smooth"(as sdfkills said), but they also said "it was so easy to ride it took the thrill out of riding".

and that was hard for me to accept cause i'm a honda guy..lol

on a side note (thread jack)

i think stunting should be like the IRL and impose rules to level the playing field for the rookies. ALL PROS HAVE TO STUNT ONLY BIKES 1000CC AND UP.

93 900rr
00 929rr
06 600rr
03 xr50
06 xr50
01 xr70
03 xr80

i started riding in 97 and started stuntin in 03. i won't say i'm a pro, but i have pretty good experience on a bike. it's just 99% of my stunts was done on the 929 so i was just woundering how the other bikes feel.

Re: 05 cbr1000rr..good STREET stunt bike?

i had a 05 and it was a stoppie beast. . . was rolling well over 250 and i suck . . . .

def get rid of that stupid hesd . . . that thing is nice for street riding but it gives no feedback and you dont know how stiff its gunna be.

bp is no high then a 600rr to me . . . . it has a long smooth powerband . . . its picks up around 4500 and it pulls smooth all the way threw to limiter . . .

downfall is theres not a very big stunt aftermarket for them i think tygershark is the only one makin cages for them

i flipped my 1000rr in a stoppie and im actually looking for a 954 so its kinda funny

i disagree i had one for 3 years and other then blowing up a clutch basket and cracking the case it was a animal bike was always fun tons of power and very smooth.

bike def has way more power then a 929 but a 954 is just the samei have 4 friends with them and we use to race stock for stock and it was always even less then a bike length

Re: 05 cbr1000rr..good STREET stunt bike?

I dont even clutch mine up. I've never had to because I dont do slow stuff on it. It has gobs of power for wheelies, balance point isn't as far back as some people make it sound. and it has never been twitchy... except when trying to drift it. And, granted mune has wave rotors and stainless steel lines, it rolls stoppies like that is what it was originally designed for. It only likes being on one wheel and it doesn't care which. I love it

Re: 05 cbr1000rr..good STREET stunt bike?

u guys are funny...

the balance point is higher than most sportbikes, if u have some throttle control u should be able to chug idle on stock gearing

took me a good half to warm up to it in the lots

the only downfall i see is the hydraulic clutch. ive been searching for a reasonably priced radial clutch to replace the stocker so i can fit a hb on there w.o having to put the clutch inside the forks on the clip ons(stuntme 0 degrees)

other than that its a fine bike for streets or lots....

AND COME ON LEE DONT BE GIVING SQUIDLY RIGHT OUT OF THE POPULAR MAGAZINE INFORMATION.....haha

mines an 06 btw.....

My bad... NOT! he is talkin about street. And I was not giving advice. Did I ever say "here, try this..."? no. I was speaking from experience. how I stunt it (on the rare occasion I do), on the street. so lick my left nut
