Re: 2005 GSXR Idle issue help

kleen air mod helps from what I have heard. I have never had idle problems with mine though. once it warms up a few minutes its golden.

Re: 2005 GSXR Idle issue help

need more information. What exactly is it doing? At what rpms? In gear? out of gear? Under load? etc.,...
My old 03' had a bad idle problem. I would set it at 3k, but once in BP it would surge down to 2k or lower. Drove me crazy!!! I never found out what was wrong and sold it.

Re: 2005 GSXR Idle issue help

Put a power commander on it and kick the idle up a little....my 06 had it and all GSXR do it with a pipe, once you put the pc on it will idle real smooth....the block of or clean air mod just keeps it from holding excessive back pressure and will eliminate the Poping on decell....thats it..

I used Jamie at Fuelmoto for 260....PC mapped and dead on with a nice sweet curve

Re: 2005 GSXR Idle issue help

its happening all the time. i usually set my rpm to 3500 and even when im in neutral it will fluctuate, as well when im in bp. its not too excessive but is annoying. i just always feel like im going back and forth with the throttle and brake...then again i've only been doin this for 6 months so maybe i need more practice...and i'm not really tryin to put a power commander on...i have a stock can thats cut down and did the kleen air mod back in the dizzay...so whats this stuff about the oil pick up?

Re: 2005 GSXR Idle issue help

sounds like your just learning, but i could be wrong. It shouldnt do it when in nuetral. Id double check your vac lines when you did the mod. So does the idle come back up or just surge down. If it comes back up after you gas it, then your probably just need to practice more. Sounds common. If the idle does anything like what I describe in my other post, you might have an issue. Power commander and pickup are not needed.

Re: 2005 GSXR Idle issue help

Can you get some video of it? Can you create the problem when the bike is parked/on two wheels?

Re: 2005 GSXR Idle issue help

the pair valve/kleen air mods makes idle pull hard, also the oil pickup does make a difference!, gearing is probably the biggest issue, try not to go down too much on the front if any...do all the gearing in the rear.....also make sure your chain is not too loose, makes the bike jerky when coming down to idle...3500 is too much idle if youve done all this....3000 tops the gixxers dont like going over 3k idle!

I am trying to get a 636 myself though....still doesnt pull like the kawi's or honda's....gonna keep mine as an endo bike!

He said he had a "fluctuating idle problem??"
kleen mod, oil pickup, or gearing wont do a thing to Fix his issue. If his up/down idle has always been experienced from day one then I agree. I still havent heard if this is from him just learning or actually a problem with the bike.

POWER COMMANDER U **** TARDS.......and check the TPS is the reason...dammmmm

mine went from surging slightly to 1100 and it doesn't move a bit........It would take a whole 5 mins to get any GSXR to run smooth....

Re: 2005 GSXR Idle issue help

my gixxer 600 04, does also fluctuate a little, but when i drive it like 3k, than it will go to 2000 and up to 3500, when i do the iddle on 2000 a 2500 than it has no problem at al, i can break it down to like 1200 rpm, and he just pulls it up to 2500 with mutch strengt.
i have a pc3 on it, a oilpick upp mod (not that that have any tho do with iddle)
a knn air filter, and a short noisy exaust, with the stock exaust he even runs better on iddle. i come frome a old cbr f2, and this is just a cheaterbike compairing tho the old f2.
