Quad wheelie vs Bike wheelie
Quad wheelie vs Bike wheelie
Hey guys, just want some input... I think I pretty much mastered my 400ex quad,
with wheelies that is, I have a hand brake on it and can ride at 11:30-12 for ever...
With that said, im having trouble slowing down the wheelies on my bike (F4i)... 30mph+
I can pretty much find bp but havent used my back brake yet, All engine brake to bring
it back down, should I go at it same way as my quad, other than the obvious 2 wheels,
is there really much a difference in wheelies on a quad or bike??? Thanks for your help

Re: Quad vs Bike
....hmm quads are easy and bikes are not. i dont really know how else to answer your question. i woudnt expect anything to transfer from a quad to a bike except maybe the clutching up function and rear brake work. but if you had a hb on your quad and didnt use the foot brake and dont ahve a hb on your bike then that didnt really help ya much. you have to use your brake if you want to ride idle/real slow. if ur just doing street wheelies you can make good bp wheelies with no use of the brake although its a real good idea to be comfortable using it just incase.
on the streets just never seemed to need it... The hardest part for me is
launching first from a dead stop... The bike pops quick and I let off the
throttle like a bitch... I guess I just gotta say fk it and loop it just to
get it out of my head
Re: Quad vs Bike
Thanks for the tip, I always keep my foot hovered over the rear brake

Re: Quad vs Bike
well get used to using it even when you dont need it. like when youre on the streets riding a wheelie and u want to put the wheelie down, instead of just dropping off the throttle try tapping the brake to bring it down. keep doing that tilll its second nature then when you clutch from a dead stop, you can clutch right up and catch it with the brake. it becomes much easier to keep it slow if ur not throttleing all the way up. clutch it all the way up to the brake and it will catch idle immediately and youll avoid chopping throttle.
to bp and catching with brake is the way to do it your sayin? Not
clutch pop then throttle up?

if you havent used the brake and engine break is bringin u down then ur not straigh up, when u think ur straight up come back 4 more inches
Re: Quad wheelie vs Bike wheelie
4wheeler and bike 2 different worlds if u wana just play with it get a fiddy they are fun, but if you wana learn listen to what they tell u becuz for them not to be realy trashin u for a squid question is outstanding, i couldnt leave a anykind of reply for a long time without sum1 givin me ****
Re: Quad wheelie vs Bike wheelie
i disagree... i love ridin quads every now and then... and i've learned a few tricks on a quad that helped me on the bike... just keep practicin and use ur brake... gradually bring ur bike higher and higher and smooth it out with the brake... once u start slowin down then its time to start clutchin up from a dead stop

what stunt did you learn on the 4 wheeler that helped you on a street bike?
