got an idea about 600rr tankdents..

So i was thinking.. all the 600rr dents i see are just a really small back-dent.. which i dont really like! so after taking off the cover i noticed the top of the actual gastank was sitting higher than the airbox. has anyone ever tried hammering down the front of the gas tank too so you could make a more traditional top dent with the cover?
or would it result in the gastank splitting or tearing?

mine was sorta like that on the 600RR I had.....you arent going to smash it down and melt the top more than an inch or so deeper up front tho.

on my 600rr never really found the need to try to dent the front up i was fine with the dent in the rear. Then just heat up the cover put a couple towels down and sat on it.

Even if u pinch the tank alittle and it cracks or splits as u say u can just jbweld it...that is why u always dent slow and work from center out

This is not a tank dent it a lip built out of a steel lip built from sheetmetal duraglassed on the inside to the tank then quickly riveted to the tank then suraglassed over that and a coat of bondo to make the edge smooth.

find a pic of jesse tolers 600rr, he had someone cut the tank in half and weld the top on.... then put a deep dent in the cover, thing is SUPER comfy!

I just made (but welded)a taller lip on tnecks r6 tank since they are really tuff for denting also and he was sick of falling out, Im thinking about doing it for people as a service since i have all the right tools to get it done and last.
