4 piston changeup

so i was wondering, i read through n know how much better the feel of having a 4 piston in back for the hb is, n i thought about changing my h.b. setup to this, never heard of it bein done like this only as a dual caliper with a 4 piston

-so the setup would be
+radial master
+braided line
+rear master adapter
+4 piston caliper adapter
+4 piston caliper in the back to replace the stock rear

-my question in how effective might this be and any ideas or thoughts on it?

Your stock rear master is too small for a 4 pot caliper.

Re: 4 piston changeup

I have a 4 piston hohey bracket and i tried to put a 2nd 4 piston adapter where the stock rear caliper goes and it would not fit. I am guessing if you put the 4 piston adapter on the stock bracket it would work and then you would just have one 4 piston caliper in the back. Sounds like a good idea for the people who are sponsered by full throttle. Kawi rear brakes suck compared to f4i rear brakes.

Re: 4 piston changeup

i just bought a hohey 4 piston adapter off of matth ^^^^, im still waiting to get the hohey dual caliper bracket.

i took off my old set up (2 welded stock brackets, really nice set up and lots braking power) and fitted it up and it seemed to work, but i haven’t tightened everything down and bleed it yet. i figured if it works i will just run a HB only, so i can get used to the 4 piston while i'm waiting to buy a hohey DC bracket.

answer to the original question....... imo someone’s gotta try it to see how well it really works, but in theory it seems to make sense (if the rear master can handle it).

i might be selling my old bracket and second caliper if any one is interested.

tanus was talkin about it the other day. said he runs a hohey 2 (single)piston linked setup w/19mm master. he also said it had the strength of a 19 with the feel of a 16. i'd like to do it but i like my footbrake too much.
