Here in NY they're trying to pass proposition 416A which would fine motorcyclists $1000 for loud pipes. We're trying to get everyone we can to call in their opposition. It doesn't take more than a few minutes.

I hate loud pipes, they bring the cops to our spots. And the saving lives thing is bullshit unless the offending cager is already behind you. That being said, I still called.

I got pulled over in myrtle beach cuz my radio was turned up to loud. As I was pulled over a harley with straight pipes cruised by , the officer even had to turn her head cuz of the noise was so loud. She just let him go and gave me a ticket. That was 9 yrs ago, I never did pay it.

i think cops have it out for sportbikes more so then cruisers. i also think this has more to do with cruisers open pipes.

Loud pipes are sweet, I think I got the loudest around town lol, but im putting the stock back on, it does have the ability to ruin good spots

 

I dont use loud pipes due to cops hearing it at the spot! I did call though because that just one more bullshit law they want to pass against bike

I hate loud pipes, especially when people I ride with purposly make there bikes louder to 'sound cool' just annoys the **** out of me and makes me not want to ride with them

 

I have a couple friends that SWITCHED from sport bikes to cruisers..

After getting RAPED on tickets for ridiculous ****, they gave it up for cruisers


Now all they do is talk about how cops never EVER pull them over, even when they are riding like a fool

 

I guess you can kind of relate this to import and muscle cars having exhaust. Cops never pull over muscle cars with exhaust but they will for sure pull over the imports

 

My bike's pipe's an aftermarket one but not for the sound, rather for looks I reckon. I don't like too loud pipes, but on a proper sportsbike it cannot be really a quiet one. Can it?
