yah everyone is waiting on scarlet, see what happens with that. C if Jannard can deliver a cam of that caliber for the cost of modern prosumer units.

yeah, I dunno if that is possible but...but...for the cost of a decent scarlet setup the results you will get will be worth every penny spent imo...

...now we just have to scrape up 20k...

Re: thoughts on video camera's for shooting vids

yah i'm sure the complete setup for the scarlet will be a pretty penny.. nevermind just the body.

i already have some Canon L glass so....but still... i'm sure a very basic setup with HD unit will be 6g's, and thats probably without lenses and maybe one battery. Nevermind the hardware/software to be able to edit that raw footage.

i think i got one more film in me that will be widescreen... well see what happens. hahah otherwise its the panny 170

Re: thoughts on video camera's for shooting vids

yah technology is moving pretty quickly here.. its hard to invest into a new format u know.. every 2 years a new model comes out..but @ some point u have to just do it.

the DVx100a has been a workhorse for me, 2 features under its belt and most likely a 3rd one. After that switch to HD. By that time **** will be dead on and much easier to work with, ie SOFTWARE and HARdware configs.

as well u have to ask yourslef. Do i need a camera to just play around with or am i actually going to do something more. For people who maybe are not serious about devoting their skills and future to film/video/photo or myabe any other stuff, getting a expensive piece of gear might be a bit to much. Being involved with motorcyles and stunt community has definalty been awesome but i dont see myslef doing 10 stunt related films. Maybe one more to make it a trilogy...maybe.
