The choice
The choice
Im thinking about replacing my motard with another street bike, a few of you might remember that i used to stunt a 600rr, then changed to a motard.
I love stunting the motard, its alot of fun, but i hate the need to trailer it everywhere, i loved how easy it was with the RR to just get on, ride to the local spot and stunt, plus it was nice and quiet, i cant ride the local spot on the motard because its too loud i have to go to another spot 40mins away!!
So ive have a few opitions, my friend has a CBR600 F2 that he may sell for 2k, i could get atleast 6k for the motard, so thats an opition, i also have a friend that may trade his 05 636 for the motard, but it is damaged and would need quite a big repair (frame is twisted, front rim bend, few other lil bits and pieces)
Im just really unsure on what to do, because i hardly use the motard at the moment and its not really justifyable having it, would much rather something street legal
any advise?

Re: The choice
if you hardly use the motard, it's too loud and you like rollin up to the spot. there is no question, buy a bike but I wouldn't do any of the options above. i'd get a straight 636 or another comparable cheater bike. what, they are fun!
Re: The choice
ive tried make it quiet, spent alot of $$$ on exhaust mods, i think its the type of noise, the thumping, echos off everything.
and i cant make it street legal, if it was the crf450x model i would be, but not the R

Re: The choice
636 are about 11k for a decent one
F4i's are about 9k
954's and 929's are about the same 9k-10k
F2's and F3's are about 4k to 6k, but im getting a sweet hook up.
www.trademe.co.nz is like the New zealand version of ebay, just take a look there and you can see some of the prices

Holy **** lol. Those prices are ****** nuts. I figured for 6k you could get a decent deal. If homies willing to trade for the 636 I would probably go that route and put a few dollars into it for repairs, depending on whats fucked.
actually just read the first post and read you need a new frame and other ****
Sucks prices are so ****** high there

Thats
10k for an 03 F4i. How much is that in USD? Re: The choice
after riding a fuel injected 600 and a minty motard you will absolutely hate the carburated f2 and getting a new frame for your buddies 636 is gonna be expensive as hell , maybe you can find another 636 for around the same price as you can sell the motard for , one with some damage but not a twisted frame
Re: The choice
$300-600 you can get a slavage title straight frame
Anything over $800 and you should be getting straight frame with clean title...
And if you dont mind the dirty stuff you can get **** even cheaper
Re: The choice
Why would you buy a frame with a title if you just need the frame? no point in buying a frame with clean title if you already have a title, and just need a replacement frame....

Re: The choice
Shops here will order blank frames for you and stamp your old numbers ...They will not grind off old (dirty) numbers obviously, but if you bring a salvage title frame they will restamp it for you with your clean title #'s...I know its probably tight where you live, but its not uncommon for me to see something like a 1000RR running F4i paperwork with a restamp job...This isnt something I would do personally, but it happens all the time...
Re: The choice
having a dealership stamp a brand new frame is perfectly legal but even removing good #'s from a frame is considered tampering with a vin # and thats illegal in the usa...
