Re: 07/08 600rr vs. 07/08 R6
all i know is all the magazines rave over the new 600rr, and they all hate on the r6 on the streets. No mid range is the complaint about the r6 I always hear. Now for the track its a different story. With that said my buddy has a a 07 600rr and ive ridden it, its light and has decent mid range. oh and its a honda.

Re: 07/08 600rr vs. 07/08 R6
i did not read hardly any of this thread...
That being said...
The Newer R6 has an EXTREMELY high balance point. If you are looking for something to wheelie on the street, I would probably go somewhere else. I would say just about ANY thing else. I have ridden anyother bike in this yearsbody style and the R6 has the farthest bacj and Shortest balance point of any bike I have ever dore (dirt included)
Being the Yamaha enthusiast that I am I would hve to say probably go with something else... Unless you want to buy an 03-05 and out 06 Body work on t like bill d did. That **** worked out great for him.
But honestly... I would not go for the R6 as a street riding whoolie machine.
i cant believe I just went against YamahaI( )
DAMN!

Re: 07/08 600rr vs. 07/08 R6
don't feel bad man, i am a huge yamaha fan also, i worked for a dealership for 4 years, and have had an 05 r6 which is now my girlfriends bike but i beat the snot out of it for a few years and with well over 20,000 miles on it now yet it doesn't even make a tick anywhere in the engine and runs thousands of times better than my 03 636 with less than half the miles on it.
I have thought about guys saying the bp is very high on the new r6 and it is affecting my choice as well. if i wanted a track only bike i'd go with the R6 but i'm more of lookin for a minty clean street stunter that i can do twisties and long rides with. so the cbr it is, now i just gotta find me a white one for a decent price, thanx to everyone that chimed in on this thread.
If anyone else has experience with them please feel free to put in your 2 cents.

All you need is practice. Get used to the power it will help in the long run, learn to kill it on a RR and it will make riding another bike a peice of cake. I have the power commander and it opens up all ranges, and it's a Honda

Re: 07/08 600rr vs. 07/08 R6
the 600rr really isnt too bad once u get used to it. tongwoo and i have had several conversations about it. u just have to learn to deal with the 2 stage engine braking bullshit. but other than that, if you have good throttle control and rear brake control...its cake. comes up pretty easy and is really a work horse. ive put my 07 through some **** and still havent broken anything major. i scrape 12s on the stock pipe and the subframe is still straight..
you shouldnt be disappointed with buying a honda.

exactly as i was thinkin man, i know i will learn to ride the rr just fine, and at the same time it will make me even better on my 636 which is absolute butter already. i'm up for the challenge and overall it will just make me a better rider all around.
