Re: motorcycle course

I took mine back in 99, I liked it.

Then I took two advanced courses (02 and 04) and I had a blast jumping lumber in the hazard course....... and doing stoppies in the emergency braking section.

It is all in how you perceive the course.. If you show up thinking you are going to have a shitty time, then you will. Be optimistic...

+1 I liked it too I had to take it to ride on base in NC and learned a lot form it. I was the only one n the class to get everything prefect. But I was probably the worst ride cause I crashed my bike a bunch of times after that lol

Re: motorcycle course

i dont know about everywhere. especailly florida if it madatory to get and endorsment. but some insurance companys may even discount rates from having the class. yeah some of it can be basics but try and take something from it. if anything try and help somebody in your class become a better rider.

Re: motorcycle course

I took it the weekend after I got my drivers license. In illinois you can only ride up to a 250cc untill your 18 unless you take the course. It also saves a little on your insurance.

Are you sure about this ? Cause i have never heard about that law

Anyway , i took the course (in Illinois) when i was 17 to get my "permit" not an actual M license . I could then ride on the road , but i had to be with another rider with a motorcycles license . And you don't have to take the driving test at the dmv . Just a 25 question written test .

I got my permit so i could ride my friends bike on the road . 1988 Hurricane 600

I went thru College of Dupage and did the course . It was like $20 . Rode around on Honda Rebels in a parking lot .
They make you wear boots , jeans , leather coat , and glasses (or a helmet) .

After i bought my f2 , i went and took the real riding test at the dmv , and got my M license .
6 months later my license privleges were suspended

Re: motorcycle course

i thought the cousre was ok but NOT for the $$$ you have to shell out to take it, I only took the course because i got busted by the man for not having it, took him over 2 years to do so thow, and i was about 6 months away to be 21 and go to the dmv to get it and save some $$$. on the bright side i meet a couple hot chicks that were there and got me a peice of ***. so all in all it was a good experience

in IL its only madatory if ur under 18, and it only cost $20 up front and if u pass u can get ur money back, but i donated my 20, to make sure the course still runs so other 16 year old kids can do wheelies too
