noob here with some ??????'s!

whats goin on guys....just picked up my 1st stunt bike today 02 zx6r. I know, not the best choice (carbs for stuntin) anyone else rockin carbs? Shes a bit rough lookin and needs some work like the subframe is cut on it and the pipe. Shes got a little sputter at low end too but some carb cleaner should help I think its been sittin a while. How much harder is it to stunt with carbs over an FI? I have an rc51 and a vtr1000 aswell so I know how to ride I want to start racing too possibly. I used to race mx but I thought i'd give stuntin a try because I love rippin wheelies and messin around on the other bikes but they are too pretty to drop lol. Whats the first things to get for the bike and anyone have some cheap **** for it? (sprockets, cage, ideas ) thanks in advance guys

Re: noob here with some ??????'s!

the first of the sport used carbs, it can be done. obviously fuel injection is better. first get a cage.

Re: noob here with some ??????'s!

congrats on the bike.
I'd get a cage first and then a bar.
best thing is just get out there and ride it dude. don't put too much thought into what's on it. you'll figure that out as you go. nothin you put on your bike is gonna make you instantly better. A sprocket will help a bit, and stayin off the bar for extended periods of time will keep the carb from loosing fuel. but again, just ride it no matter what's done. learn at your own pace, the rest will work itseflf out. Good luck bud.

Re: noob here with some ??????'s!

can I still get a bar with the sub frame cut like that? It welds on or bolts on? Yea i was thinking sprockets because I really wanna learn circle wheelies (do you need a 3rd brake for that or is it just all balance point?) but I have no rear pegs to stand on either lol.... Ima try and find a cage before I start doin stupid **** haha Also, should I get dirtbike bars or get the right 02 zx6 bars because these ones that this guy put on were from a dif year and they hit the tank when you turn... I might have some dirtbike bars laying around Also what do you guys do about turn signals? Are they gonna get fucked up everytime I drop the bike? it has none at the moment...sorry for all the noob ?'s lol

Re: noob here with some ??????'s!

i would turn that bike into a street fighter, use that to ride around with sell the rc51 because they need so much stuff done to them to just make it a releastic driveable bike and buy an f4i and save all the aggrivation you will have riding carbed bike.

Re: noob here with some ??????'s!

FYI if you want it streetable you need to have the ram air tubes on. they duct into the float bowls to pressurize them, after jetting for the shorty they were really needed. i had a high flow air filter on with the new jets but it you have significant gains in hp and driveability with out filter at all, just have to change oil more often.

needed to pressureize the carbs?

So what happens when your leaving the line, or doing a wheelie? Ram air tubes would cause RESTRICTION.. Not pressurize! Not until your at high speed on 2 wheels

and no air filter at all? Might as well pour some sugar in your gas tank, and leave your bike parked under water while your at it!

try to refrain from giving shitty advice.. just because you like to destroy your bike, doesn't mean other people do!

IF you NEEDED the ram air tubes, and NEEDED no air filter, then it sounds like your bike was jetted to rich, therefore needing more air flow

lol I don't need a subframe to start ******* around... and its there just cut in half lol. I need a cage before I start doin anything, I don't want to crack a case... This guy had a can of brake cleaner as the antifreeze overflow but it was leaking so any ideas for that? I can't just plug it with a bolt right because it will blow the line from the pressure? I did that for now so it doesn't leak but im not running it like that. Anyone know the stock setup?

dude if your gona stunt that thing your gona need a subframe cause if that bike goes to far back its gona flop right onto the tank and bars.LOL since you gota get a subframe already get a good steel one that wont break. as for stunting with carbs Y not you can do almost all the standard stunts and more its a good start.

so Its just gonna fill up with antifreeze then overflow???? I wonder if I should just get a 12 bar and have it extended or something instead of a new subframe because im going to end up bending it anyway
