What would YOU do?
What would YOU do?
Okay, bare with me, I'll give you a background, I am a newb to stunting, squid, whatever. I have been riding since I was 4 years old. No MX'in, but had trails around the house that I'd tear up, had all sorts of dirt bikes as I grew up. So now I dont do the dirt thing anymore (moved to the city), I have a stunt'd out 50 and some friends with the same, I think I am pretty good, I can combo lots of tricks, rear brake/hand brake on lock.
Now that I have been stunting the 50 for a few months I have gotten the itch to get a real stunt bike. Only problem is the market in DFW is totally dry, I have cash, but no good bikes (looking for f4i's, 600rr's, or 636's).
So I got to thinking, I have an '05 salvage titled gsxr750, its in pretty good shape, full fairings, custom paint, I've dropped it a time or two so it isnt perfect, but still presents nicely. I've been toying with the idea of just buying up some stunt parts for it and learning on it, but I get scared from all the frame/subframe problems. I figure if I do stunt it I'll got with a sondobby or scrapeworkz subframe, but that still doesnt fix the frame. I dont want to ruin this bike when I could save up a couple of grand and get something else, but the itch needs to get scratched soon, and this option is seeming better all the time. I dont ever really ride the 750 anywhere far anymore, I work a lot, and if I got a dedicated stunt bike I dont know if I'd ever ride the 750 anymore.
So, since you know all there is to know, what would you do. Stunt the 750 out, wait and buy a stunt bike, trade 750 for stunt bike, sell 750 and buy stunt bike...?? Patience is not something I was blessed with, after looking for a month or two and not finding anything, I need something soon.

Re: What would YOU do?
i'd probably just play with that bike, but if you got some coin, did you check out craigslist? how much can you spend? quick search in dallas came up with several under 5 grand.
