argon/carbon dioxide Mix for mig steal welding, straight argon for Aluminum mig welding. not sure about other types of welding i only Mig it.. its deff not oxygen the whole idea is to shield the weld from the oxygen i believe.

 

I had my dad run out to garage and check my tank and apparently i had a brain fart. Tank says argon/co2 mix.. But i dont know.. Something is funny with it...

could be running out of gas or not the pressure correct.. if the weld is bubbling up its 100$ lack of shielding gas. It should be laying in smooth other thing is correct heat/wire speed i find going less on wire speed/heat and sitting on the spot longer gets better penetration but it alwayz needs adjustment

Neal, can your clip on clamp not be tapped? I'm so pissed I stripped mine. Riding with only the top bolt in my clipons makes me nervous

Nothing to be nervous about. I got 1 bolt holding mine on. Only time it budges is if it hits the ground hard so then the clamp swivels around the fork. Would I feel more comfortable with all 3 bolts holding it on, yeah I would lol but the 1 has been fine for me. He's got a mill at his work and he said he could do work on the mill and helicoil the holes so I'ma let him run with it and see what he can do. Hopefully he could hook it up coz I really dont wanna have to buy a new set of clamps

 

1 turn too tight toneth. he snapped his bolts off inside the clamp like i did

I ordered it from a place online but would have to search for it but Brendan said he found a local place for $15 a bottle which is cheap locally.

Possibly good news. I pushed through the other end of the clipon with a screw driver while I took the bolt out, and the snapped piece came out with it. It's very possible a new bolt will fix it for me.. I'm hoping. I'm so pumped to ride you have no idea. I can't ******* wait. I really think by this weekend I'll be able to consistently put it on the bar without a problem.... I'm hoping at leastThe last couple times I looped were close together, so I think I know just how much I need to clutch it up to around BP now. I was getting comfortable with the amount of throttle I needed to give it to hit the bar by the end of the day. I'm amped. Now I just need to drill into my head not to bail. I'm gonna worry about setting on the bar without slamming the **** out of my bike.. then hopefully hitting brakes will come.

 

One other thing I'm really nervous about is just tightening the cage bolts that go to the engine. I REALLY don't wanna strip those. I think I'm gonna invest in a torque wrench since I'm mechanically retarded.

 

LOL I was just watching those clips and pure comedy lol. You did stick 2 of them tho which was good. I'll send them to you probably tomorrow. You got CS4 right? I heard CS4 will be able to recognize AVCHD format where CS3 doesnt. Or I could convert it and send it to you. Lemme know what works best for you. Also, I have a handful of slightly tweaked tubes. If you want you can have a few of them so you could damage those instead of constantly ****** up new tubes. Lemme know about that too

 

Just stop right before you think you're done then. Trust me, you're going to have to learn to feel for this stuff, not everything on your bike has a torque spec
