Quit changing **** on your bike until you get better with the mechanics

I've never fiddled with the fan on any of my bikes and also never had problems

Yeah I bought a soldering iron and now since I can't ride I go nuts soldering ****. I don't know people said to rig it to keep it always on... I was reading up on **** and they said its not necessary til you have idle and whatnot which I don't. So I cut the wires I originally soldered, which were short as hell... only had a few MM of wire left on one, extended everything and put it back to normal. One wire was so short I had to like wrap the wire around it like a ball and solder it. Talk about huge ******* wastes of time. I had to resolder in like 4 different places. Everythings back to normal now. I'm assuming my temp sensor will still work, since I unplugged the rubber part and stuffed a wire in there and grounded it and the fan turned on. I hope none of the solder brakes when I'm slamming this **** down hard.

Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses

i left it hooked up as stock, and ran a switch off the power wire...

So i can choose to either have my fan on all the time, or just let it kick on when the thermostat kicks it on

I need to look at yours this weekend to see how it's rigged up. I have the sloppiest wiring around. There's like 3 different solder joints in each wire wrapped with duct tape at this point I'm the worst. I'm definitely learning though. Fortunately I've been able to pick most **** up once I saw someone do it first so far.... with the exception of wheelies, and I had a LOT of time watching people do wheelies last weekend

Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses

I haven't quite grasped the concept of bootleg electricianing here, but I'm really trying to understand.. I've been looking at the bike and trying to figure this out. Now there's 2 wires that are coming from the fan itself. One is the ground, one's the positive I'm assuming. It splits into two, one wire being a rubber plug that plugs onto the radiator, and one wire plugged into a connector, which also has another wire with a loop on it that attaches to a screw to ground it into the radiator. Now from those two sets of wires, which one is the ground and which one is the power? Rubber piece that plugs into the radiator the power?

Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses

the one going to the ground is your ground..

The other 2 are power... one goes to the thermostat... dont touch that one. Tie into the power one.

This was if you forget to hit ur fan switch it will still come on if it gets hot.

Gotcha, so tie into the the one that plugs into the radiator hose. Thanks man.. I've been ******* with these wires for like 3 hours now staring at them. I'm not going to do the switch right this second... but it's nice knowing a bit about what I was doing now. I was sitting here baffled looking at wiring diagrams trying to figure it out One last thing. Does that switch need to be grounded? If so, can I use the same ground that's the circular loop around the screw? I'm not too familiar with electricity.. don't know if you can share grounds.

Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses

assuming you're wiring the f4i fan, the wire going to the sensor on the radiator is a ground. if you want to run a switch to have it on all the time just cut that wire and put a switch in between it. that way you can run it all the time or have it come on when it's supposed to.
the fan gets positive power all the time.

Aight now my mind is blown. I thought I had it all figured out. I'll just check out Ross's bike. Once I see it in person I'll understand. Thanks fellas.

Bedtime. Last day of work tomorrow. If the union can't do anything, once I sign my termination papers I just might get twisted at lunch time and stumble back into that ************

So his crush washers were pissin fluid and fucked up the powder on the rear wheel Finally got his HB bled out but after this weekend he's gonna take the wheel off to get it re powdered. But nope - he's got a bunch of **** to do tomorrow to get it ready for the weekend hopefully. But I still dont know who you are and why Im telling you all this
