Stock Gearing for Slow???

Its been 2 summers and I've finally learned how to slow em down, got the foot brake down pretty good. Getting a handbrake over the winter because riding season is almost done in Ohio. BLOWS!! Next summer gonna try some new slow tricks, just wondering what yall think of stock gearing for stunting and should I run (+5 or +7) rear sprocket.

I run +10 on my f4i but I got elevation to deal with, I'm over 5,500 ft above sea level, bikes suck up here. A sprocket will not make you a better rider dude, the only thing its gonna do is demand less throttle to get the front end up, and at idle you will be going slower because it utilizes engine drag.... this is how some of the old school guys could do crazy **** without handbrakes, they'd let the engine slow the bike down. A stock sprocket will ride faster at idle and will require more brake to bring the bike forward from beyond balance point. Thats it... you can go just as slow with either, its just how you ride it. You WILL NOT LOSE any of your stunts by going to a different sprocket, especially at your level....no offense.... it'll take five minutes to get used to the giving it less gas to clutch it up and you'll be right back where you were.
ADVICE: go +5 and dont change it until you're doin no hand figure eights....by that time you'll have learned that people put way too much thought into what parts are on their bike, as opposed to how they ride the bike. Good Luck.

stock rocks, definetly, learn with it, then circle it, and then u'll get on any bike easy plus it's just time to get used to it and forces u to use clutch lot more in the O's

Re: Stock Gearing for Slow???

on my gixxer for a while i ran -2 +3 and that worked out okay for goin slow. but stock sprockets the bike will want to stall at about 8mph. you will be constantly fanning the clutch and focused on rattrapping.
