serious TITLE problem NEED HELP!
Re: serious TITLE problem NEED HELP!
how can you get a plate and insurance in your name if the bike is not in your name? i thought you needed to have both people on the insurance? the person that signed for the bike doesnt she need to be on one of your documents to legally get a plate or insurance?
Re: serious TITLE problem NEED HELP!
The bike can be registered to anyone on the planet, and anyone can have insurance for any vehicle on the planet, You could go get insurance for your buddy's bike if you wanted to, Insurance just says that when YOU are riding that bike you are covered. You can get a temporary registration simply by taking the vin # and proof of insurance into a DMV, they just check to see if its stolen and that its not already registered to someone. If it is registered to someone they DO have to be there IF the registration is to put into someone elses name. You dont even have to own the bike to get it registered in your name..... thats why when you buy a new vehicle you get a little pink slip as registration.....When you finance a vehicle you dont own it the bank does, but its registered to you and insured by you. If they sold the bike they probably didn't renew the registration so as far as the state is concerned its not registered to anybody and he could have gotten it registerd and insured but never actually owned the bike. The state doesn't give a **** who owns what vehocle as long as its insured and registered. Its a fucked up deal, thats why you gotta have a bill of sale AND proof of payment. END OF ESSAY
Re: serious TITLE problem NEED HELP!
well your name is on the registration that has the vin so if you get pulled over you won't go to jail. What I would do is go to his girl and see what is up. did you get any bill of sale or a contract of payment to help show that you did pay your buddy.
