to jb weld or not to jb weld?

broke a rearset today and im thinking about jb welding it back together until i can find a new one. think its a bad idea?

first time you go to stand on it. i think it will break and then you will meet the pavement. . .i would just wait to get a new one. . .

TIG weld YES JB weld no....I would never JB weld anything that has any kind of stress put on it or that needs to hold weight....JB welding an engine cover that just has to hold low oil pressure is one thing, but JB welding somethign your going to be standing on it border line stupidity..

if you want to ride that bad and just need a foot rest, i would drill it and take two pieces of flat stock (one inside, one outside) and bolt it together.

yea i guess your right even though it is only the left side rearset which i wont be putting much weight on. i would hate to have that thing fall off while on the highway and go through someones windshield or something.

beleive it or not i used JB weld to weld the crank pully on my 1994 civic about 3 years back.. still to this day does not have a bolt in it lmao.. mother ****** is stuck for good

yes but there is also more them one bolt on your crank pulley. . .and is that a smart idea . . . jb weld if for holes in a gas tank where you can make a spark or some **** not for a piece that is going to have a 200 lbs guy jumping on it
