i think people forget that a crash cage is ment to keep the damage to just the cage... do you honestly think that your not going to break anything when some of you squids toss your 400 lb bike when you bail? for real man, stfu and ride that peice of ****!

I will only put SI stuff on my bikes.... That being said I am a total squid and toss my **** all the time... I loved the sliders because even if they did break off (mine were good for 6 months/never broke) it protects the cage end and allows you to still get a socket in to remove said cage..

i didn't mean any disrespect towards your product, but i just don't find them essential in any way for your cage to work. The only people that seem to be complaining about your cage design are the ones that run the sliders.....seems to be a pattern.

cage works great without them, takes a beating, never bends my bars, never rolls up. why add leverage? apparently so they can have something that breaks and then they get to complain about it.

nah, the sauce doesn't make me hate on people that have no knowledge of mechanics yet talk like they know what's up. If they actually learned how motors work and what alters what then they would easily see that adding tubes to the front of the bike will not change **** except engine noise and ram air at higher speeds.

Re: Si cage, okay, but sliders are poop

I have the alum sliders to so far they are working great. Only through it down hard a couple of times just ate away some of the aluminum like it is supposed to do. I have to say i think people need to realize mainly is that when they through their bike that's 400 lbs(as said previously^)slapping down on the ground, and if it goes airborne than the force might make it seem like 800lbs hitting the ground. Dont know but if anyone can make a small derlin slider that can hold up to that **** i will buy a pair. All i can say is i love my si cage no more busted engine covers:YEAH!

were you purposly letting go of your bike to test the cage? Or do you always let it go on purpose??

You could have saved almost every one of them!

It looks like you had sliders on in that vid and every time the bike rolled up to hit your bars. On my f4i, the only time i've damaged my bars in 3 years is when i lost a 3rd gear pinned SS coaster and teh bike went end over end. Since then my bars are straight as can be after many highsides. sick cage without sliders...it never rolls onto my bars.

I think that the slider acts as a pivot so when it gets up to the slider it will fall OVER the slider onto the bars....now, it won't do this in very light crashes where it just falls down, but if you're doing a circle it will have enough speed to send it past that slider and apply more pressure to the bars.

Tony, you've bent quite a few bars since you put sliders on your SI cage haven't you? i think i can remember 2 (maybe 3) times you replaced your bars learning circles this year.

Re: Si cage, okay, but sliders are poop

and johnf, it looks like you are getting your body too far to the inside of the SS circle. Every time you lose it, your hips are way to the inside of the bike causing too much weight on the inside and allowing the bike to fall in. Try keeping your body more central or even to the outside while still putting your weight on the left (inside of the circle) foot.

just an observation.

Re: Si cage, okay, but sliders are poop

i mean no disrespect to sickinnovations but i must also disagree about the sliders situation. i have had a si cage for over a year now and crashed the hell out of it. great cage. its $220 retail and doesnt come with sliders. most other cages on the market are $250 and you get sliders. so at a glance it appears a si cage costs less than the others, but it really costs exactly the same. and the materials do not cost more than $5 ! i am just a normal guy and i can get a huge thing of delrin for $20. enough to make probly 10 sets of sliders. and my buddy has a lathe. this is all there is to it. making them out of aluminum is a little more tedius but still cheap as hell. aluminum is cheap to get. so ya aint foolin me ian, but i understand its a business and businesses rely on making money so i dont blame you for trying to make money. and i have experienced my sliders breaking on me because when you crash it takes all the fall, the other parts of the cage dont touch, i know my f.i. cage i used to have when i crashed the loop part of it would get hit too and the slider would just get scraped. but i still hated that cage and love my s.i. cage.

Re: Si cage, okay, but sliders are poop

Ive had both delrin and aluminum sliders on my SI cage. Neither of them are bulletproof and both will eventually break. The delrin sliders broke off within a couple of drops so I shelled the dough out for the aluminum sliders. I busted the aluminum sliders as well but it took a lot longer to do. Both sides were bent so bad and snapped off that theres no way they would go back on. BUT thats bound to happen after hundreds of drops. The SI cage is SICK

Re: Si cage, okay, but sliders are poop

I've highsided the **** out of my bike.... even on the ice, in sub-zero temps, and never had a slider break. however, my boy broke his on his f4i the first day he had them. We think it depends on how tight they are in the cage. I tighten the **** out of mine, and have never had an issue. even bent the rear piece of my SI cage to the point where i had to cut it, bend it back, and reweld it, and the sliders still work

weird, i had the opposite effect. Mine just stays flat on it's side and the bars don't hit.

sucks about the knee. do you wear braces? I used to wear cti's but i switched to astrisks and they work great. I used them mostly for motocross but they would work good for support stunting. Lightweight and not bulky. I use the Thor ones for stunting as of now since i haven't had problems in years with my knees though.
