Street Riding Aint What it used to be
Street Riding Aint What it used to be
As im sitting here at home cause i missed my flight to INDY
I got to thinking about Street Riding and how its just different than it used to be. This is also brought about by looking at the hollywoods blox part pics where the cops just seemed to be ready to tow bikes and chase down everyone. Can you imagine how much money that cost to get all the cops/choppers in the same area. Same situation for our Sac to Bay ride last weekend, Ive never see so many cops, there had to be 100+ cops wandering around. That was more for safety but its nuts, we are in a bad economy and they sure as hell have been hiring more law enforcement.
I think a lot of things contribute to this, for me at least. The increased amount of cops I see EVERYFVCKINGWHERE these days, me getting a little older and actually caring if i gotta shell out 2k to the lawyer this week, and how some of the rookie cops these days try to make a name, at least in my area.
It just isnt what it used to be to me. I used to wheelie everywhere, endo every red light, and almost never have to run. I swear i see 3 cops on my way to the freeway from my house when i go riding these days (I live 3 miles from the freeway). I guess this is what the cops are going for, presence, cause i sure as hell think twice about wheeling down the street these day.
Anyone else feel the same?

first off, you live in sac.... CHP training facility is there with nothing but gung ho cops lookin for action. increased cops... due to our economy the crime rate has sky rocketed which results in the need for more police. thats great for the pigs... oh yah again you live in sac... dont like how many cops are around you move to a city that doesnt have one of the highest crime rates in the US
but your right as far as its not what it used to be... to spice things up for me on group rides i get baked as **** and goof off the whole ride, pullin keys outa bikes, hittin kill switches, and rearending people i dont even know
. but i also wont stunt on the streets unless theirs atleast 30 heads riding cause johnny law has my number and ive paid them enough this past year to retire mother ******. get back to the basics bro and just have fun with the homies

FTP:YEAH ...but yes they are getting rediculous with the enforcement fand those ******* try to hit you off the bike they dont give a **** about anything other than making a name for them selves..and around here by me its a badge of ohnor for a cop to catch a bike...they are all in it for the thrill of the chase.. THEY DONT ******* CARE
Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
Yup no more fun on the street's really for me, and ya economy is bad and they are hiring more cops but that's not effecting the economy. The government is just hitting that printing press button and printing out as many dollars as they need, which is y the dollar value is so low right now. We are in a huge recession.
**** the pigs, but they forced me to stay in the lots so that's where I stay....I'm not tryin to lay on a 1 inch thick bed staring at NORTE tagging everywhere. Sac CJ...

Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
times are a changin, ive been hit by two cruisers in my days and im just sick of spending money on lawyers and having my license suspended. when i was younger i didn't give an f now when im on the streets im way more cautious cause i know the pigs will kill me to try and stop me
Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
im young and i get lawyers free through my union. but it still is taking a toll on me. i have 3 wreckless pending right now and a few other tickets as well. 2 summers ago in upstate NY a trooper was killed chasing a bike that passed him doin over 120, the trooper crashed his SUV into a tree and died, they passed the law to make it felony to evade the police and most of them are not fans of us here now a days. the streets are very risky to ride but for now its all i have. the only time you can even hope to get away is with a larger stunt ride. the other day i was blocking traffic at a main intersection tryin to get 80 bikes across. there was a cop in traffic and he just waited lol. but if you are killin street with 1-10 ppl they will get your ***! and tickets are expensive now a days no matter where you are. here in NY the surcharge alone is 80 dollars plus w/e the court fines turn into

Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
i'm with you totally on that one. Driving my car i have gotten let off the hook so many times for stuff i've done that i shouldnt have. and the night before last i get a wreckless driving ticket for riding a wheelie, or popping a wheelie as the cop stated on the ticket. though i rode it a mile. lol anyway, it sucks the cops around here are like after us. It's like they see each other in the shower and high five each other for pullin over another bike. I'm with my friends now. I always stop and for that they generally take it easy on me. But that rookie from the other night probably caused one of his cop buddies to get hurt crashing his car trying to keep up with me. I'm sick of it, im not stopping anymore. I'm so serious about this i just went and put fresh rubber on the nike yesterday and i make sure im always on a full tank before i go out and fill up at a half a tank.
