Street Riding Aint What it used to be
Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
Alot of you live in over pouplated areas, 4 of my friends and myself live in rural area about 20 mins north of Tampa Florida. If you try to play in the city they will arrest you for reckless driving, impound the bike all that ****.
In the last week, I was inside a unfinished sub division all paved and lighted and threw it up and went down the long straight to the back where we ride and there was a sheriff sitting back there with no lights on.. I stopped and he was asking if I had permission to be back in there the builders had called them b/c someone was stealing the copper wires out of the ground. I told him no, I was just trying to play on the bike and keep it off the street. He was mad cool and told me he was going to be sitting there another 30 mins to come back after hes gone.
A friend was inside the city limits going past a local skate part tossed it up and there was a local townie comming right at him. He stoppes and looked the bike over was asking him about it and what other stuff he can do. He seemed more interested in the hand brake and crash cage and not at all about the wheelie. He just asked him to take it outside the city so ppl dont call the station and bitch.
The other cat hit it on the head to many ppl doing it in the same place

Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
To many dumb ***** started hitting cars and causeing other people to get hurt....It even happens at our stunt spots, some dumb **** finds out were out there practicing and goes and gets there dumb ******* friends to go and try and act cool doing 100mph wheelies in and 250yrd space and smash in a ******* parked truck and then the spot gets closed down. Now cops look at street bikes and just want us gone all together. Espeacialy STATE TROOPERS IN FLORIDA!!! They hate everyone even other cops....Trust me on that. I think theres nothing wrong with ripping one up in light traffic to show off. I mean thats the main ******* reason I practice so much. But when we start splitting cars on one wheel and then run from them as soon as they get close what do you expect....Now I am not saying I am an angel but, now in Florida it is $1050 dollars if you caught on one wheel...Reckless driving. And that fee increases the every time you get caught. I just got back into riding, I stopped for 3 years, and I deffently saw how cops and there attitudes toward street bikes has changed since I came back. I thought it was bad before...

I live out in the country kind of, so the county roads are better to play on IMO anyways.... no bitches to show off for, but I ben married for 11 years now so....... it's all about the riding for me.
And ususally when you get stopped, the sherriffs sometimes respect you because you actually stop for them! Iv'e had more give me a warning cuz I didn't run and they'll tell me of how I'm like the first one out of the past 4 or 5 that didn't run and I have a faster bike or something stupid like that.. but I usually try and explain how I don't do it in traffic and that's the reason that I'm way out here is to avoid other cars since that way I figure that the only person I'm putting at risk is myself.
Seems to work for me, and actually the only ticket I've ever got on my bike was in January moving my bike from one place to the other goin 12 over cuz I was freezing and it was a female cop! haha I always get a warning.
but yea..only reason that I have ever ran before was just becuase I wanted to see if I could get away with it! LOL it's actually easy as hell. And I prefered riding with a few bikes only that all have riders that know how to ride like Chris said... Way more fun IMO.
Now having said all of that. the last time I rocked the streets was last years' ride of the century in The Lou! LOL
My deal is that I can't stop thinking about honing my lot skills long enough to even want to ride streets anymore...
I started tearing up the streets with that Mille, and it's just not the same anymore, but cops aren't the reason.. the advent of the more technical tricks are the reason for me..... Loss of interest I guess?
Maybe once I can throw down some combo circ's in the intersections will I feel differently....

Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
Got pulled, and actually cuffed and stuffed in the back of a state cruiser last night, and wasn't doing anything wrong... The cop mistaked me and a friend for 2 guys that were railing the interstate at about 180
Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
Well the story is....
We were out of town with the guys, one with a stretched gsxr1000, nitrous, air shifter, pc and all that stuff, and a guy on a busa, don't remember what all was done to it....
We were at hooters, drank a bit, so when we left those 2 took off, and me and a friend hung back and only did about 80 since we had drank a little, and he didn't have a license.
Passed the guy on the busa about 10 minutes before we got back into town, he got pulled over.... Got off the interstate to head up to my house, and guy on the gsxr passed me, so i followed him up a back road, then he told me what had happened, so he hid his bike in the woods....
Went back for my other friend cause he's not the best rider and I left him, rolled up on him, and first thing he said was get outta here, so i started my bike, but it was too late :/
The cop finally realized we didn't do anything wrong when the guy on the gsxr passed where we were hit at about 120 smoke rollin off the back tire

Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
the 5-oh chopper visited us in syracuse again sunday. they dont **** around here no more! all it takes is about 20 bikes and a phone call about a wheelie and they bring out a helicoptor
Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
So if you were riding off duty, a cop rolls on you doing a wheelie and arrests you, impounds your bike, gives you a reckless, and throws you in jail.......you would be ok with it because the cop was "saving your dumbass" from eating ****! I DONT THINK SO MR PO PO.
Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
Cops are doing a job, and anyone thats ridden a street wheelie has wrecked in one way or another. Ive bounced my bike and myself off the ground quite a few times, im just lucky i didnt get run over or hurt anyone else.
You cant get mad at cops for pullin you over when you KNOW you are doing something wrong. Thats like getting mad at your girl for catching you cheating.
Ive gotten let go on the side of the freeway after I got pulled doing combos at 65. Only reason is the cop was actually pretty cool and liked that i didnt treat him like the bad guy.
Do you get mad at people that work at starbucks for getting free coffee? NO, so why would you get mad at a cop for not getting tickets, its a perk of the job. Now remember the bad part of the job is that they can get shot at.
Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
If I get pulled over for riding one out or something, that's fine with me, my own stupidity for letting him see it.... But if it's something like improper display of tags or something, that's ridiculous
Re: Street Riding Aint What it used to be
dude "IF" i got poped for doing a squid wheelie haha ,, and the officer did all that ,, than you know what it was my fault and what ever he 'trys" to charge with me i gotta take it to a "point" **** gettin a felony!
im just like any body else reckless drving is the same across the board...
