Re: Which 2008 litrebike would you get ?

how many people here have actually ridden the 08 R1 for a while??

no, i dont mean hop on your boys at the spot, and go for a spin, i mean get on it, blast freeways, bang corners, and actually ride the thing for a while??

i bet you might just change your mind about it.

only thing that SUCKS, and i will say this bike sucks for this every single time you do it, and its alot... taking off from a light. if you dont rev the **** out of it, it sounds like it is cutting off. thats about the only flaws this bike has....

but i can't expect anyone to stand up for the bike on this site... yamahas are the red headed step child of the industry.

All of them...

Re: Which 2008 litrebike would you get ?

ive had pretty bad luck with my yamaha over all the recalls (coils twice) and parts the dealership forgot to tighten (like my front brake rotors and clip ons) its a pretty reliable stunter, after youve changed all the stock parts out. but i would still go with yamaha again

I know it's not from abuse b/c he actually rides pretty easy for the most part. I don't know all the details, but the Honda was also a consideration when I was shopping for a liter, and about a week after getting my 10, another one of my tech buddies that works there called and told me I should be glad I didn't get the Honda because of that problem and the Honda rep didn't know how to fix it.
damn i would never think of a honda doing that.
if i'm not on a kawi i'm on a honda

p.s. THEY NEED TO BRING THE ******* 636 BACK...********!

+1......Really wasn't fond of the front end, but once I sat on it I was sold! Light as a feather and just felt very good

Re: Which 2008 litrebike would you get ?

I've ridden the ZX10 ( 2007 ) and the GSXR 1000 ( 2008 ) and Loved both. Riding posistion on the GSXR seemed more comfortable, but the Zx10 seemed a lil wider and seemed to handle a lil better. if it were me, i'd be out test driving. Buddy beat the crap outta his ZX10 for 6,000 Miles and it still ran like brand new.

Re: Which 2008 litrebike would you get ?

just gotta say i have been on alot of bikes, and i bought the zx-10 and love it. the power is great and it handles well, i know that it does lack in style and looks, but its a sweet bike to ride and own. just giving my opinion...
