636 set up

ok so i got my 636 the other day. been riding f4i for almost 4 years and i know nothing about the 636.

i want a cage that i can fit full fairing on still. whats the best one?
plus i need a good round bar subcage and sproket. whats the best shop to buy all these goods from. cause i live in Australia its best to try and get as much stuff as i can from the one shop so i can save on postage.

iam gonna do the kleen air mod this week is there anything else i need to know about this bike?

thanks for the help i feel like a NOOB LOL

thats probably about the same or maybe even less then what he would have to pay even with combined shipping savings

Re: 636 set up

last i checked SI didnt have a subcage for the 05/06, i waited like 5 months for them to finish it and still hadnt, then i got hooked up with an OMR subcage from my friend and i actually like it alot better than the SI. SI for the cage tho defiantely, flip the stock clip ons, put your stock exhaust back on and thats a free round bar. glue your tail light in or it will fall out. the stock fairing stay/ram air duct is going to break so either buy a few or pay 5 million dollars for a johnny p stay. tank denting is pretty easy. +7 or -1 +7 is perfect gearing on these bikes imo. magura 13mm 195 master with a hohey dual caliper is money. cut ur front pegs down to where the peg feelers are and remove the feelers and youll never break a rearset or peg. https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/281...-06-636-a.html

Re: 636 set up

i dunno bout where your at, but see if you can do the jumper mod... i dunno much about it cus i ride a 04 636 n they say the mod is only for the 05 06 models. something about jumping two wires togeather n overiding an exhaust valve that lowers the db of the exhaust at higher rpms. they say all you need is a wire n the plug is under the seat or something. im sure someone around here knows more... just ask around.

that only affects the power over 12k rpms and only works if you have the stock exhaust cuz it opens the exhuast valve wide open instead of closing slightly to reduce noise. in any case if you need more power out of a 636 you got some issues, either with your bike or your skills.

i dont have any probs with my skills, u wanna test that meet me at xdl. and yes they are underpowered on the bottom end. have u ever rode a 03-04, cause i own both and the 05-06 is nothing like the 03-04 on the bottom end. ask apex or anybody else on here that kills a 636,theyll tell u to go with a big sprocket. dont get all but hurt cause your bike is not the ideal stuntbike

you got me all wrong! i dont give a **** who likes the 636 or not. i speak on facts not emotion or personal interest. i didnt say **** about your skills, and i wont be at xdl but ill be at ROC so come say whats up and toss me a high5 im not a bad guy. dyno numbers do not lie, and yes ive ridden the 03/04 and if you have an 05/06 (which ive had 2) set up STOCK exhaust with the exhaust vavle working properly it has on paper more power than the 03/04 all the way through the rpm range. ppl complain about lack of power cuz theyre bike is usually jacked the **** up. throttle bodies way out of wack, bunk plugs a million things that make a bike not run as strong. my experience comes from mint *** bikes set up to ride, not beat pieces that u dont know what the lack of power could be comming from. now you can argue feel all u want but dyno's will show you the 05/06 has more power, not much but def more. thats why kawasaki added the exhaust vavle and the dual injectors, not cuz they thought it sounded cool. ive ridden both my 05/06's with stock gearing and had no issues doing anything, i always say the only reason i gear my bikes at all is to save a bit of wear on my clutch. and u know there is such thing as gearing your bike too much.. try some mild gearing and youll see how well it feels, hell ill let you ride mine and i garuntee you wont tell me its underpowered. out of all 600 class we ride, the 636 has the most power and the 05/06 being the tops.

Re: 636 set up

ive rode them bone stock, light gearing, and every way. my bike was with stpck exhaust and everything worked properly. my **** was nice. but for a example dan jacksons is the nicest one ive seen stunt or not and it is the same way, GAAABAAGE. and i bet the charts your lookin at for dyno prob doesnt even start till around 4 or 5 grand. i also dont believe in the no gearing thing because i got news gearing makes things easier. and i would say whatup at roc, ive been there the past 3 yrs but i dont think ill be able to make this one. and i got news dyno numbers dont tell everything about a motor, i have hours of experience with them
